Wow at the changes since I left. Ive been gone maybe 4 months?..maybe more. Not sure. I'm a Founder btw so not a total noob. I played the hell out of this and needed a break.

But WOW this game looks totally different. Its beautiful to behold now. My first match upon my return was a night map. geez...gorgeous yet hard to see ...just as it should be. I like the new controls too btw.

My main question is why does it STILL say Lone Wolf..always has...yet I've been signed up as Davion since I signed up for beta and beta'd it. Any way to fix that?

Also it seems dark, I guess that's in my video options. I'll look around.

Anything important a mechwarrior thats been gone half a year needs to know before jumping back in?

EDIT: Oh..first match back..we won..I lived...and got 1 kill..a headshot to a Atlas with my AC20

Everything is still OP no matter what. If something kills you, it's probably a good idea to start a thread raving about how unbelievably broken it is.

Also, new patch schedule is out, detailing how PGI is going to be rolling stuff out from now on. Basically, 2 patches a month with the second (the 19th of the month) including a new mech and map. And no Clans or mention of Clans or images of Clans

So... same old same old more or less

As to the Lone Wolf thing ... go to Profile --> Faction in the forums and choose Davion again. It will be reflected in-game as soon as you log out and back in again. The in-game Faction is a recent thing and must be updated like that before it works.

Welcome back Daehawk.
There are no doubt many changes in those last 4 months. I will list the more recent ones that I know of and hope others can fill in the rest for you. Apart from heaps of new mechs to play with, and the introduction of ECM some new massive maps, other things are.
Recently the community was given a Testing Grounds map that is accessible in the game type options.
Lasers have a new system that allows for more accuracy when there is lag involved. Its complex but something to do with remembering where the enemy was on our screen when you shot.
Heat vision was changed to now work still on maps with a high residual head background. The next patch is mentioned about changing Thermals and Night Vision modes once more to make it harder to spot the enemy at great distance.
The hit box's for the Raven mechs have been worked on to allow an easier kill. This was because there was a lot of people hating the Raven 3L ECM mech due to its speed, turning circle and Streak SRM load-out.
LRM's and SRM's not seem to be hitting legs more often and splash damage is causing more damage than either intended or listed.
Flush Coolents are the first consumables introduced. These will cost C-Bills or MC to replace after any match that they have been used. Two more consumables are on their way with Artilary and Airstrikes.

Glad to be back. Its amazing how nice the game looks graphics wise now. Just made my jaw drop. Having fun again. Not used to the maps now though. This gathering resources is new to me. Seems you have to stay within the area to get them. My teams have not been too good though. they just abandon me something. they run around like a chicken with it's head cut off and die. Maybe they are new noobs too hahaha.
