If C-Bills are going to remain so ridiculously slow to get (please no knee jerk responses from the guys who have enough money that they never need to buy a mech with C-bills and/or play so much that getting a life is a foreign idea to them) can we at least have the option of buying an empty chassis? (Even if it's just ones we may have sold off.)

I do not run a single mech with it's stock loadout and half the equipment goes to waste. Yes I could sell it all but essentially I'm throwing away 50% of the c-bill value then, and c-bills ain't easy to get if you play casually without a unit.

I do agree that since the reward change, c-bill grinding is kind of a drag. Personally I accomplish it without premium time by playing a lot of matches and advancing the push faster than pugs generally do. For me I find the offset of shorter matches (that don't include the 5 minute hiding session) out gains 10-15 minute matches even if my kills and damage are less.

It's also their way of saying, "Hey, we'd appreciate it if you bought premium time once in a while."

I agree, buying stripped down chassis are well worth it, more so if you already have the equipment ready for it or even if you have to build it from the ground up and buy the items later for it.

I could like the idea, if some limitations are build in.

At the moment, if you don't want or need the pre-build equipment, you can sell it off at half price. This is essentially a c-bill drain and a part of the game.

Let's say your new mech costs 5,000,000 with all its stock loadout. 4,000,000 is the worth of the equipment build into it and 1,000,000 is the base price for the chassis. Now if you want to buy an empty mech, you envision it at the 1,000,000 price point. I'd see it at 3,000,000.

Why? You ask...
Easy... The factories are building mechs at stock loadout. An empty loadout is a custom work. To save you from thr hassle to sell all the unwanted equipment yourself, which would gain you 2 of the 4 million it is worth, you pay a custom fee of those 2 million and get an empty shell.

You will not safe any money, but you might be able to get a mech earlier, because now you don't have to grind for its full value.

Without this limitiation, I don't like the idea very much.

This. I wouldn't mind paying 5mill for a stripped mech that would usually cost 8mill (CN9-D for example)

It was mentioned in the last town hall.

I do believe it may happen later on but in a logical way. Possible a community warfare specific store where you can buy a stripped mech.

Because well.. unless you are talking about an omni mech, there is no way to buy a mech stripped... even then the omni still has the engine, armour, etc....

The reason being that stripped mechs are often only found via salvage.
it costs money to strip a mech and as a guy selling a mech, What would you do....

For eg...

Sell Y mech for X price, you paid for it X - 10%
or...

Sell Y mech for X-10% price that is stripped, you paid for it X + 20% to get it stripped.

It doesn't sound like a good business move...

Salvage stripped mech would be nice.
but why keep it at just CW?

Why not normal fights as well?
What I mean is, that maybe you can buy a stripped (IS only)mech seen in the the match(all MC & rare mechs are not included) at 20% - 30% of its normal price and to help pay for it give up all of the C-bills from the match and pay the difference.

I figured one could have a choice and everyone can buy them after the match is over.

a DW B wouldn't be a true stripped down mech as it would still have engine & armor.
I figured only standard mechs can be stripped only mechs.
