While I understand that different teams work on different areas, one would think that getting some serious bugs fixed would rank pretty darn high on the priority list.

Issues that have been around for weeks that are very serious. Some of these have been around for MONTHS, and it's just ridiculous that they are still around.

Weeks:
  • Yellow screen bug
  • power down and not getting your hud back on power up
  • certain mechs causing you to go to 4FPS when you look in their direction.

Months: and getting worse, not better
  • Mechlab crashing when you sneeze, or look at it funny (purchases or almost any type cause it to crash, even right after a logout and back in)
  • Black screen on launch
  • disconnect at launch
There are others, but these are the first that come to mind.

I enjoy the game, but really, it's hard to keep making excuses for the game to friends who are trying it out. You can only say "really, it's open beta, they are working on it" for so many weeks of new junk being added before they get sick of it and move on. Often times I hear "well, they are released enough that they want my money.", and I can't really argue.

These are all net code issues. PGI knows there are issues with the net code. They even have a position available on their website for another net code dev. Chillax. Besides content people don't fix net code, so they're not slowing anything down. Chillax.

These are not all netcode. Some of them are just plain graphics. Yellow screen, how is that net code? Powerdown is netcode? Hud totally wigging out, and leaving traces all over is netcode?

As a side note, Netcode issues have been known about since early in the beta process... they shouldn't "just now that we hit open beta and the world can see us" be being worked on. Netcode is so basic and important to the entire game that it should have been one of the first things.

As a professional software engineer with more than a decade of experience I'll bet you US$50 these are all net code related.

Either way, see the side note.

It's kind of sad it got out to open beta with core functionality so broken.
