Removing the flamer does not change much. You gain a high-mounted laser hardpoint or another 1.4 DHS and then what?

A -X% heat generation for energy weapons is much more useful.

5 ml/mpl/spl hurt more than 4 - this would improve the performance very much. Well it isn't a 8SpL FS9-A oder a 6ML FS9-E but at least it would have a impact to protect the group. with 40dmg on a alpha MpL you have at least the chance to kill a leg of the enemy light.

Two ERML, Single Gauss (2.5t)

Two LPL, two LRM5 (2t)

Two LPL, two SRM4 (2t)

Two PPC, single ERSL (Tc1+3dhs) asymmetrical to one side.

Pick your poison, and learn to shield. Asymmetrical loadouts shine on an adder, but it's still an adder. You are incredibly light on armor and an easy, slow target. Find yourself a few bigger mechs, and stick behind them. Prowl around with them and be their extra weapons arm.

In CW, it's actually an efficient cleanup mech, usually returning two to three kills for virtually no wasted tonnage on second drop. Finish off a few targets, clean up the backfield, and respawn into a real mech to continue the fight.

Finally, remember it is one of the four clan mechs being given quirks on the 17th. Wait and see what we get.

Ok but you are ~40 km/h slower than a firestarted and you have no JJ. If you want that kind of gameplay, imo you'd better wait for the Arctic Cheetah.

Well this adder would be more like a cicade ok not that fast and no ecm but 5 tons less weight. However the adder isn't in a good spot anyway since it is everytime worse compared against IS mechs with unlocked engines. But this is a general issue. The adder seems even worse against a kfx. However it do feel better than kfx with the uac10 loadout.

I've found the Adder to be an excellent Missile boat (2 LRM 15s, 2 Erml), and pretty solid with an lbx20 +3sl.
Going to try it with an lbx10 soon too.

I've seen people running all laser builds effectively too.

With any mech, you need to find what it's good at and play to those strengths, rather than try to make it like another mech.

My Badder. Mini LRM platform. Not terribly effective, but terribly fun. I also have a LRM5 variant that replaces the tag and ERML with a ERLL.

I dont understand the whole 'badder' thing. It's such a versatile mech. You can take clan lasers which are always good. You can effectively lrm boat (its 35 tonnes), and above all else - you can pack like 50 point SRM alphas. My kdr in the adder prime is one of my highest.

My 2 x ER-PPC Adder build got 874 damage & 3 kills in a CW game two days ago. *shrug* as a pilot who almost always takes assault mechs out to play, I'm really enjoying the adder. It's not fast enough to be a 'traditional' light, more of a light & fast harasser.

In s CW match you can make everything worth as long as the enemy stay outside of the doors and be chickens on the run.

Nah, I like it. It is very unexpected and different. Sorta a last ditch effort to confuse and hopefully overheat whatever is attacking you (likely if a clan mech) if you are using the stock PPCs and running at high heat. At that point, you hope to have a friendly help you out as you continue dancing around them yelling TROLOLOLOLOL occasionally getting off a PPC shot.
