Odd, mine downloads much, much faster - and i'm in the sun blasted land of nope.

I'd suggest you either ticket support, or PM one of the tech guys, or post in the support/patch feedback areas.

Two bumps in less than 2 hours? Really, guy? When the oldest post on the first page was older than Kiiyor's post in the thread? Chill, dude.

Anyway, yeah, sometimes, for some people, downloads are strangely slow. I've noted that downloading patches seems to take a long time for me, and I've no idea as to why. Conversely, some people have reported massive instability in the game, yet I've at most had such problems infrequently. I just shrug and accept the trade-off.

Ok, THAT is abnormally slow...

First thing I'd do is reboot into safe mode and do a virus scan to make sure there's nothing weird going on. After that, check to make sure you have all of your updates, and then unplug your router and/or modem (whatever is relevant to your set up) for a minute and plug them back in. Make sure you aren't torrenting anything, and if you share your connection with others make sure they aren't torrenting anything (well, if you don't own the connection you're kinda' SOL on that one, though).

It'd dependent on the server you are downloading from and the download queue it has put you in.

MWO is distributing it's download through the servers of a third party.

If you get a download that is below your capacity or simply crawling, you could stop the download (close the patcher) and restart it a moment later. Repeat that until you get a better download lane with acceptable speeds.
