http://VND-1R

He has a PPC and jumpjets as an important components,i changed for more heat sinks,4 medium lasers and 1 AMS with his ammo.

Maybe was a **** configuration but i get my first kill with my 2 lasers left (other 2 destroyed) vs a hero medium mech.

I know that i can put a XL engine but i dont have sufficient credits and slots for buyPosted Image one. So i still put a 210 engine.

The armor was 3/1 in front and rear.

The name of the mech was "Gipsy Danger".........in honor to the famous movie :)

My maximum run speed was 75 km/h.

Another problem of the laser mech was that he shutdown quickly caused heat :(

And i don't now which more information give for enter to a veredict...

I would recommend using double heatsinks and dropping the armor upgrade. With that you should be able to another medium laser to the head and still get better heat management. I would go for the heatsink upgrade before the XL engine. Once you have the double heatsinks, you may want to try using a ppc backed by medium lasers. Hope this helps.

Hi Furio,

Like Spike said, there are very few instances when you should NOT be running Double heat Sinks.

Yes, it cost 1.5 million cbills, thats alot of money for sure, but trust me, you will have much better battlefield usefulness on that Vindicator running double heat sinks.

Trust us on this.

There are a few Banshee and Locust builds that have been shown as or more effective with single heat sinks, but almost any Inner Sphere mech you buy, consider it to have at a minimum 1.5 million cbill TAX, also know as double heat sinks.

Good luck, frequent this site, and ask alot of questions!

Here is the build optimised like Spike said above: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2fd676b95c8b435

As you can see, you get an extra laser, but you also get even better heat efficiency. Once you can afford an XL engine eventually, you'll be able to put bigger weapons on it as well, and move some of the heatsinks into the engine itself to save slots.

The first thing you do with any mech should be to upgrade it to Double Heatsinks. (except for perhaps three or four builds in the entire game which don't need it, but a new player is not likely to encounter those builds)

Here's my version of your mech. I'm assuming that you want to take advantage of the Vindicator's PPC quirk but your unfamiliarity with it is keeping you from fielding the weapon. So what I've done is given you a big engine, Double heat sinks, and plenty of normal lasers to play with! You can fire the PPC at 440+ meters (giving you practice) and use the medium pulses and regular medium laser at 440 meters and below. Just keep in mind that the PPC does ZERO damage between 0 and 90 meters!

I would highly suggest either going with a 2 PPC build or saving up for this STD 225 if you aren't going for an XL (you probably shouldn't, I don't think that an XL is going to help much when you are limited to a 235 max engine size). This 225 is used in a few different mechs so you may be able to recycle it, plus it has 1 more internal heat sink (every 25 engine ratings you get an extra internal heat sink or a slot for one).

In the meantime you could run something like this or this (or maybe this), depending on how comfortable you are with trying the PPC again and/or what your C-Bill budget looks like.

Also, a good tip for armor allocation: the head only needs 7-10 points of armor. So always take armor off the head and maybe a few points from the legs in order to gain enough tonnage for one more heat sink or more ammo. Once you get used to the game, gradually test front-back armor configurations and see what you like, but keeping relatively high front armor and only a 2-point difference between rear CT and rear ST armor seems to work best overall.

As has already been mentioned double heat sinks would be a great upgrade, you can get roughly the same heat efficiency with an extra 10 tones to play with although you will have to switch to standard armor, that would allow you to put in a LRM 15 or swap your lasers for Large or ER Large lasers or 1-2 PPC to take full advantage of the quirks (10% PPC heat reduction, 10% ML heat reduction, 10% energy heat reduction, 40% faster PPC projectile) and still have roughly the same heat efficiency.

here are my suggestions
with a PPC
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d239dec6112e027
with an LRM15
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ab7f55532fec656
with a pair of Large Lasers
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2f3678f8e0c4128
XL engine + 2 PPCs, this will run a bit hotter than the other suggestions and due to the price of the XL engine will be an expensive refit

This was after spending just a few seconds tinkering with it. Improved cooling, improved damage without adding additional weapons, reduced the spread of your damage (never-minding quirks as I didn't check it like I said I spent less time making this than typing this). Also made it so your weapons and ammo will survive as long as your limbs do (rather than be destroyed or blow up in your face while your limbs are still intact).

So here you go. You won't complain about the heat even on Terra Therma. The range can kinda be an issue, but your speed's been slightly improved and you can jump pretty high.

Now if you give me a few minutes I'll do something a bit more serious with this.

Some tidbits a bit more quirk compliant.
Sharp Shooter. You can put the PPCs on either arm. It's a one button wonder.

Jack of trades. For increased range for the close combat element you can cut the 4 small lasers (12 damage total) for 2 mediums (10 damage total). However the smalls work well enough to fire within your blind range of 90 meters and do better damage than the single PPC. It also has a rack of LRMs and 2 tons of ammo so you can pepper in some damage for easy (Cbills) bonuses. This'll also feel a little bit closer to a 'real' Vindicator.
