My question is, could MWO benefit from a limited run of Fast Card. As people go through the game section at Wal-Mart, they often see game cards hosted by Fast Card. So, my thoughts are if MWO had a limited run of these cards issued through Wal-Mart or some other company, would that help increase our player base as new players would see these cards, grab one, and start playing MWO. Also other players could benefit from this, grabbing a card with 20 bucks worth of MC on it which would also grant a days worth of premium time. Or the cards could be geared just for premium time.

Not until PGI is ready. They are purposely not trying to actively recruit new players at this time. They know us MechWarrior lovers are here to stay more or less. So their goal is to focus on certain key features and content so that they can have as high a retention level and possible of new players when they do enter in to a large recruitment push.

We are mainly a niche population right now. Those who fit that niche are already here, have been here(and poke their heads in at one time or another) or will naturally find themselves here in due time. We are immensely more forgiving of the state of the game(at least in participation, not necessarily in its criticism though), we are the grassroots population that keeps MWO minimally viable. But introducing large numbers of people from outside the niche, with potential to appreciate the niche, but before the game is ready, will burn way too many prospective players who would have the potential of being part of a sustained player base.

Large influxes of new players at all costs is a publisher's tactic, done to make short-term cash grabs to secure a return on their investment into the game...and expediting their bailing out of the project. Devs have to think differently if they desire any type of population longevity.
