Guys, I do not know if Roadbeer left or not. That is not even the point.
What I know is you people single someone out, personally, and slam him down in numbers.

And that is called mobbing. Very close to its very definition, in fact.

You might still claim it to be lighthearted faction ribbing. Ha ha ha ha, right?
Well, this thread is seriously brimming with lightheartedness, is it not?

By now I am starting to think this is quite deliberate. So, bring forth your excuses.
We all know you will relativise, obfuscate and sidetrack.
What else could you do, after all?

I dont remember applying for a "nice guy award" anytime recently, and i most certainly am attacking him directly (not sure why you figured i would deny it)

Talk smack, get smacked. You dont post 300 replies, stirring people up and then vanish from the forums all together, and not expect to be called out.

I dunno, Victor Morson also got unbanned and then just kind of evaporated. So it's odd. (Although I'm pretty sure he was briefly posting under an alt.)

CW's been in a state of no development for about 80 days now. Victor, Chronojam, and many others saw transverse, and decided that that was enough for them. It brought peace to many restless souls, including most of the guys who were posting on RSI.

Sandpit and most people like him largely quit when CW turned out to be just a java map with powerbars.

Roadbeer's probably doing what I did between december and february, that is, playing other games.

Can't wait for CW to stretch into 100+ days without any notable features added.

And you don't violate name & shame repeatedly and directly and not get banned, except apparently you do, but maybe not for long.

PGI seems okay with stretching the rules for the CW sub forums.

The problem here isnt name and shame, its that the troll attempt used really old meme pics on a generator site and there is a distinct lack of humor and the usual Artistic asian flair that Forum readers have come to expect.

I disagree, we stand a pretty good chance of getting some form of PVE content from PGI, and honestly MW4 sucked. Was a huge step down from MW3, which was both closest to canon they ever came, and was the last Mechwarrior developer that actually cared for the franchise. MW4 was just a cash grab from MS. They didnt give a **** about Battletech, they just wanted a lead in to mech assault (which i actually enjoyed for what it was). MW3 was the ONLY game to get the autocanons right, pulse lasers dead on, had infantry that could be splattered. Had mechs being knocked down from taking too much damage, accurate falling damage. I mean i still remember playing online in a clan, jumping my summoner as high as it could, eating something to the affect of a 70 point alpha from an enemy mech, and having my Summoner fall the second it hit the ground, knocked off its feet, the struggle to stand back up.

If this game can get a good launch on steam, and PGI is able to expand, we could totally see a DLC style single player game coming from them (especially after scrapping their SC clone). I bashed the crap out of PGI, but since ditching IGP they have regained alot of my trust.

Being that your a troll (and a bad one at that) I dont see why im bothering but screw it, ill play ball

It sums to this: You poke the dragon, you get the claws. Nuff said. We were friends with Marik, but Roadbeer and company managed to turn enough of their population against us to get them into attacking us, talked all kinds of smack to us, then once we took a swipe out of them, all the instigators ran off. Lesson to be learned: Play with us, not against us if a reset happens.

I would totally support a story mode with my wallot if this comes to pass.

The obvious solution to this problem is this:

Now, you don't feel like you need to pick on the Rootbeer. Who, I might add as a disinterested third party, appears to have amply earned the consequences of his "diplomacy"

Sadly his house continues to endure his consequences while he takes a vacation, surely to return when thing "get better for marik". But at the comment of referring to him as rootbeer, i laugh and can sleep easily tonight :P

The only hang up i see with it happening is a full single player campaign would retail for like $45-60 if it had good production values, where as a mech pack ranges from 20-120 or more, for a lot less work. It would have to fall under the category of selling huge volumes or appealing to a PGI dream of making a complete PVE experience to go with the game. Regardless mechwarrior lives on, even if not in the way some of us had hoped, it still does a better job of doing online game play then previous editions and its far better then the franchise being dead.

I'm not going to speculate on Road or any of the other leadership. But here's my view on things. HK talked a big game. A lot in Marik wanted to see them back it up.

And back it up they did, in spades. The problem is, all of a sudden everybody disappeared.

To quote pwnface from -NS- "You don't get into the ring with Mike Tyson, throw a rock, get your ass beat, and then say, 'well, at least we tried.'"

I get that a lot of NKVA are just dix. A few of -NS- too. But the dix can back up their talk, while we are just left holding ours. I admit I'm disappointed right now. At least some units are to some degree trying to save some face (sorry, lot of some's) in this debacle.

Kudos, gents. You are an asset to this community.

Your constant stalking and desperate trolling of all of my posts is hardly any better. :)

Ah, the simpler times when a good fight mattered more than the politics of why and where.

O Roadbeer, Roadbeer, wherefore art thou Roadbeer?
Deny thy democracy and refuse thy clan;
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my target
and I'll no longer be a Clanner.

'Tis but thy name that is my enemy:
Thou art thyself, though not a Marik.
What's Marik? It is not clan nor good,
Nor meta nor tryhard, nor any other part
Belonging to a Clan. O be some other faction!
What's in a faction? That which we call a davion
By any other word would play as badly;
So Roadbeer would, were he not Roadbeer call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that island. Roadbeer, doff thy clan,
and for thy faction, which is no part of thee,
Take all myself.

I admit I was one of the voices clamoring for war. I know we have more numbers than this. We have proved it before. I am honestly unsure why more units aren't turning out. But just like in real life, you can't start a bar fight and then expect to run out the door. You keep punching until the bouncer throws your ass out and kicks you a few times until you stop moving (being a bouncer myself). Unfortunately, we suddenly have a lot of drunks running for the door.

My point I guess is that HK walked the walk. If we can;t swallow our medicine then somebodies gotta own up cry uncle.

EDIT: thank you Steel. I know there are some moderate voices in HK and some cool peeps, you seem like one of them (I've found a bunch of them by being vocal about the current ***********). A lot of the NKVA trash talk fired us up, and some other discussions as well. But it seems for naught.

People turn out when they're winning. They get tired and disappear when they're losing. It's as simple as that.

Some Mariks may be stubborn enough to stick with a losing battle, but most aren't interested in getting stomped repeatedly in a video game. It's not fun. They know it's not fun. Why play things that aren't fun?

My advice: Negotiate a ceasefire before it's too late. Give up everything they ask for. Admit defeat. Clear the air and move on.

Also, fire Roadbeer and anyone else in a leadership role who pushed for this war which was clearly not in the best interests of their faction.

I'm waiting to beat the clans back in full force. I know we can do it if the whole Inner Sphere rallies, but until Marik and Davion swallow their pride, admit defeat, negotiate a ceasefire, and give up whatever the DCMS wants, I am fine punching their faces in until the Clans come knocking on Terra's door.
