On occasion I've ran into a person who is using a macro to spam all chat so nothing can be communicated. Usually i don't have the time to report as I'm busy doing hot drops with a 12 man group. I'd like to be able to click a tick box that allows me to block the person's in game voip/text messages. This also will allow us to block the griefers. Particularly since it has came to my attention that there is an entire kurita unit that pretty much encourages childish/trollish comms behavior because their leadership can't be bothered to enforce discipline.

It's already there. Hold Tab, Click on the speaker icon next to their name and hit mute.

You're better off just turning VOIP off and joining a unit with TS that you can control so you don't get these morons and when they do show up you can ban them if you leave your channel open.

It's too bad you can't Permamute in the client VOIP.

Does this resolve the text chat spam as well?

No, for that you go into settings and uncheck All/Team/Lance chat on the first option window.

I finally did it because I can't control my fingers around trolls anymore, and don't need to hear macro jihadi or profane garbage blasting through VOIP. So to obey my unit's code of conduct, I turn it off and only talk to those in the secure TS I trust/know well enough to talk with.

Besides, most pugs don't coordinate even with VOIP. I learned that quick enough even though I got some good matches from it. There's only so many times you can tell an entire lance that a couple of direwolves are behind them and watch them get gunned down before you realize it's hopeless, they don't speak english or are just too derpy to do smart things.

I'd rather not mute absolutely everyone for every match I'm in, in response to a couple bad eggs and [Redacted] players that I see on occasion.

Then if the trolls are on the enemy side, leave your Team and Lance chat running unless they're on your side. If they are, quickly hit escape, settings and then mute team and leave lance chat running unless they're in your lance.

You'll be happier in the long run. The Wannagoons out there just want to ruin your good time for their own enjoyment.

See how much effort that takes per player though for a solution where literally every other MMO has a function to block specific players?
