I cannot get the hang of the UAC5, It always jams on me. I've had it jam on the first shot. No double tapping, on touch, one jam. Its rage inducing. I hate those things. Gauss with the charge up I got the hang of, not very good, but at least I don't stand there impotently waiting for the guns to unjam, only to jam on the very next shot.

How do you put up with it? If its about button control, why not simply go with the AC5, extra ammo, and a cooldown module?

I think it can jam if you hold the mouse button down, as well as double tapping it. Not 100% sure.
If you get a good rhythm of tapping every 1.5s it should never jam. Hold it down or rapid click when you're in an emergency or got clear shots at a distracted mech.

All good points for using a UAC/5. However, holding down the fire button for them just makes them act like a AC/5. So, if you have trouble with jams, or if one jams, hold the button down if you are engaged and have a clear LoS.

I must hold my mouse button down too long instead of tapping the mouse. Because I've had it jam on me on the first go sometimes.

According to Smurfy, the cooldown on the AC5 is 1.66 seconds. With quirks and cooldown modules we can probably get to 1.5 or less. I like that and saving 1 ton per AC5 vs UAC5 for more ammo or other mech goodies.

Thanks for the info, but I think I'm going to leave the UACs alone for now.
