Speaking in terms of the solo que, its like fighting with a buncha drafties in nam or ww2 russian conscripts. Hoping you get grouped with a farm boy who can hide, hunt and shoot instead of a shoe clerk. Group que / cw is def american cival war. The clans being the south. Just like in reality, the south kicked the **** out of the north in almost every battle until the Norths huge size and productivity finally made it impossible for the souths amazing but small military to stay afloat.

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum and I'm all out of bubble gum. I pilot my mech to the end. I will kil mechs and help my team win the match hopefully having fun in the process or I will be blown up by the enemy and move on to the next match. I don't do the role play thing or care much if any thing about "lore."

There will be some matches I just don't care about wining. I'll run troll and wtf builds like the ac 20 Raven 4x:
