Just a little suggestion passing through.

First of all: This game needs a Community Manager and I am glad we have one now. Niko Snow surely did some questionable things but after all he managed the Community.

I would like to ask, if it would be possible to feature community content creators more. I don't know the exact law conditions, but promoting a good Youtube Video, a nice repaint, a good fan fiction or whatever done for this game can only help you and shows the people out there that we have a great community. (This is extremely important for a future Steam release too!)

I know some people who did some very good stuff on Youtube and a few videos went viral, with the help of NGNG or pure luck. There was a time where you could send messages to the MWO Facebook page and they promoted videos there, but this is not happening and not possible anymore.

Please consider sharing your communities works with the world through your social channels. I can only speak for myself, but the videos that got shared by PGI have a steady income of views, some up to 20 a day. 20 potential customers, sources of income for you.

Also, please consider moving the "Fan Creations" Subforums to a place where more people can see it. There is hardly anything going on in there, compared to the old days.

You know what, you gave me an idea on how we can make this an ongoing thing.
I'll make a thread on the Fan Created sub-forum shortly.

As for moving it somewhere else, might need some time to figure out where else it could go..
Any suggestions?

Some games like Kerbal Space Program have one or two days a week dedicated to fan art. For example, music parody video Mondays or TheB33f Fridays. You should implement something like that. People would fight to make the weekly cut!

Wow, thank you! I'm here since quite some time and I did not expect an answer and especially not that fast.

An ongoing thing would be perfect. Highlight some of the best stuff we have, for example the repaints of Ironhawk, Odanan or the other guys. This would inspire others a lot!

I understand that moving forums around is a difficult task, since it is a bit like moving other peoples furniture around.

I am by no means a social media expert or anything but this COULD be a start. I wrote up a few ideas, maybe you should ask the guys on /r/outreachHPG or some of the other old Forumwarriors for help.

Explanation: The forums like "Battletech Discussion" and "Community Warfare" are Subs and Sub-Subs that are visited by the "hardcore fans". These forums have a population of players who visit the forums regulary and are not that "dead".

PGI should lay more emphasis on the "Barracks" part of the Forum. You could move that up to "New Player Help" and rename it to "Finding a Team" or something like that. MWO is way more fun with friends or even a unit.

Also, the forum should be advertised a lot more in game, the launcher and anywhere else. You can get a LOT of help and knowlegde here and we even have the international subs for people not speaking english

Even a sticky with a handful of featured videos would be nice. Edit it as videos or fanart appear, leave them there for a week or so, profit. Maybe link discussion to the original posts rather than allowing posts in the sticky, to prevent it becoming a bajillion page marathon.

More promotion of fan/community work would be great. I always loved how in the early days of League of Legends, Riot, esp. Nikasaur really pushed out a lot of fan art, fanfiction, and community videos. It's something they're still really serious about, as far as I can tell, even though I haven't been playing the game.

Very nice! That's a wonderful start!

Hopefully as time goes on, already posted artwork in the sub forum will get a spotlight, rather than being an "entry". Perhaps multiple artworks could be part of a weekly, or monthly (depends on how much content gets created by fans) report that is highlighted on the MWO front page thumbnails?

Just winging ideas around, not wanting to undermine what you already have going because it really is great! So glad to have you here. More community involvement from PGI is definitely not something that anyone would complain about right now. Thank you!

Well, on the internet it's assumed that people are always 40 year males until proven otherwise, so I don't think this will be too big of an issue.
