No, it was the janitor, old man Stephens all along! He was huffing all of the canned air instead of cleaning the server racks! Then he went running around dressed like a ghost to keep anybody else away so they wouldn't see the dust.

Good work!

Who let Forst Gump out of the power room? The servers will shut down!
I do almost all my admin work remotely from my office like a modern sysadmin.

Connect a keyboard to a server? What am I, a cave man?

If it's in a shared data center it's possible that some other servers are causing the problem.

In any case the server and network guys should be able to do some logging to see what's up.

Easy fix. Stop playing and do something more productive during that time. Unless it's a worthwhile event, keep playing while complaining about pgi.

Will this alos help the slow/non-updates of the friendslist.
Or when the groupleader can't launch after he/she has changed the ready status twice.

Ps: well there are several 10's of other bugs/waits like that i won't mention.

I have had MUCH higher ping than usual for about a week during the afternoon/evening as well--it isn't even stable and fluctates at times but always seems to go back to normal during the late hours.

I hope these things are related and get fixed soon. When I have a ping that continually changes from 150-300 it gets frustrating when your hits seem to no longer be registering no matter how it looks on your screen.

Depends Mike, how cave-like is your office?

Hmm. You only connect to the servers remotely. Your office is un-cave like.

Ah, you must be an AI. Probably live free range on the Internet. Like the Lawnmower man, or Jonny Depp in Transendance.

....things didn't end too well for them fellers. Then maybe that girl from Ghost in the Shell...she didn't die...or err...get deleted or whatever.

We're in our own rack. The issue does not appear to be a network issue or from any datacenter-related problem. It seems to be an issue with one of our services misbehaving.

Aha, I see! This does explain a few things.
Just when I thought my desyncing could not get any worse, there did seem to be times when it got worse. This may well be the root of that problem.
Now if I could just afford a new computer, I could fix every issue on my side.

At least you have it narrowed down that much. :)

Helps too that it seems to happen at about the same time every night. Intermittent problems can be such a royal PITA to troubleshoot.

Sorry...it's my job to fix problems like this, so I can't help but stick my nose in. It's second nature.

Hope you find that bug and squash the crap out of it.
