I have some questions about flamers. Do they stack heat out put on a target? Any reason to ever take more then one other then just because? Never really played with them till now. Using twins on my hellslinger and wondering if one will be just as effective. Been pretty funny shutting people down with it.

Flamers are physically incapable of inducing shutdown because they cap at 90% of the target's heat threshold. Once you hit that mark, Flamers can't bring it any higher.

As for stacking, IDK. I think they might, but they're so pointless of a weapon that it doesn't really matter if they do or don't.

This is about the best example of what flamers are capable of.

They shut people down because most mechs can't fire at 90% without shutting down.

That said, against people who pay attention you're more likely to stop them from firing than literally shut them down, but that can still be useful. The heat output is pretty crappy though. I think they always do more heat to you than to your opponent, and notice how they don't start giving you heat until you've been holding them for a while?

The only thing flamers are good at is blinding enemies. Which can be achieved with 1 flamer.

having 2 is key. Put them on chainfire. it seems silly (and they're flamers, so it is lel) but if you just sit and hold one flamer, your heat will ramp up pretty quick and not linearly. however when you chainfire, it breaks that constant use, so the heat to you is waaaay lower because it doesn't ramp up as hard. Test it out in the testing grounds, you'll see what I'm talking about.
