IDK if that's true. How is than that almost all time there are 30 - 50 % heavies in queue?

Popular and well loved mech in MechWarrior and BT. Even if it isn't THAT great, people will make it work so they can pilot an iconic mech.

Even if the Timber Wolf turned out not to be great (say it had Catapult like hitboxes), you would still see them around everywhere because when many people think MechWarrior, they think Timber Wolf.

Honestly if the Timber Wolf had to use an IS XL in this game it might have been dead on arrival.

People would still use it though. Some (including myself) like certain mechs and we will try our best to make them work.

I don't feel this is true.

I almost never see any Awesomes, and not a day goes by that you don't hear someone lamenting the state of this mech.


People will make average or mediocre mechs try to work when there is at least some redeemable quality.

Mechs that are truly a mess, you rarely ever see.

I remember kinda liking the C1 when I elited the catapults a while back....I should give the C1 another spin now that it has some quirks.

I personally like the CPLT to much to admit , but facts remain the same Cataphract is just way better.
is likely the best Heavy mech you can ever have or will get.
it's reasonable small (chassis) and hard to kill

I still see some Awesomes, but like you said, not many.

My point is, you see Awesomes. Why? Because it is a chassis that some people still like to pilot despite it being hard mode.

Now an Awesome is also a drastic example (would probably win in a vote for worst IS mech), and you still see them out there from time to time.

As iconic as an Awesome is, it isn't Timber Wolf iconic. Trust me, you would still see them being played. Now the CW crowd probably would avoid it since the are too 1337 for anything less than meta, but in solo queue, it would still show up fairly frequently.
