The clan ones seem much better: the growl of a bear, the shriek of a falcon...
Not a jingle...

I actually really like them all. Steiner is probably the weakest though.

Although I find the clan ones a little weak, its a cool concept for a war horn. But yeah, intro music?

At this point I think PGI should just take feedback from members of the factions, come up with some new sounds and let members of the various factions vote on them in each faction forum.

Wow. These are... not very good. At all. There are only a handful of warhorns that don't sound ridiculous to begin with, and none of these are they.

I was already expecting music.

They're ok and less than 30 comments with paragraphs of people telling others how to work will not change that.

Good job PGI.

Marik, FRR, and Steiner are alright, but the others suck like a two dollar h**ker.

Seriously, why is the Davion horn the intro to a local newscast!?!
Who ripped off the Kung Fu Panda soundtrack for Liao?!?
Why do I keep picturing all the Kurita mechs wearing Kimonos!??!

Seriously, those three are CRAP!!!

Don't know why they couldn't have done maybe something related to a dragon for Kurita, something related to a sword maybe for Davion, etc., etc...
Why do we have to hear songs?!?!?!?

Cause each nation has anthems? PGI is just liberally interpreting them. :P

Not impressed at all, and the Davion one........ (Thats the pack I chose a week ago because of the colours!)

Its not like the sound quality or composition is bad - it isnt, they just aint warhorns. The Liao one is passable in my opinion, I quite like it... it's much more musically 'simple' than the others and for that reason it works better. Marik... alright it'll pass.

Once people are running around with these things its going to be a LOT less 'battletech'. Heavy Metal... ok, I could take 1 - but more like that is so so cheesy. The davion one sounds like something from an 80's b-movie american sports show intro.
Someone before me used the perfect word.... JINGLES

The Clan Invasion ones were cool - Dubstep fit really quite well because it's 'fresh' and 'new' enough to sound 'futuristic'. The Clan specific ones were worse... and these one, if the pattern holds we are going to have milk float warhorns in the next pack.

I like my Warhorns. They're not all great, but generally I think they're cool. I just wish PGI would restore the old range they had and add new ones.

Psst! Warhorn ideas in Feature Suggestions!

Edit: I definitely like these new Faction ones. They sound great!

Davion: Fox Hunting Horn
Steiner: Bagpipes
Marik: Trumpet (charge!)
Kurita: Guys screaming 'Banzai!'
FRR: Horn (Horn of Gondor type)
Liao: Gong

These would be far, far better than the ringtones. Please replace them. I don't want *the* warhorns for the Great Houses sounding silly.

They're terrible. Like, really, really, really bad.

The whole concept of warhorns in MWO is just flushed down the toilet. It could have been something real cool that would add atmosphere to make the matches feel like real sci-fi battlefields, like the horns in War of the Worlds. Here's what it could have sounded like, if PGI wanted to make warhorns really alien and scary.

Instead, we got all kinds of really silly horns for the Clans (Mexican ice cream truck warhorns) and these Inner Sphere faction warhorns are even lamer. They all sound like "Mission accomplished" melodies for Age of Empires or Starcraft or something like that. Who the hell would play those melodies from speakers on a military vehicle? Like all of House Steiner are Rammstein fans because they're Space Germany?

Seriously, it's hard for me to express how dumb this is. I'm already peeved by the silly clapping monkey and christmas light cockpit items. I used to joke about the silly parrot and ice cream warhorns, but now PGI has taken it a step further. Now we have parrots, ice cream trucks and Age of Empires.

0 / 10

Please let me disable these childish sound effects in Game Options

I totally agree...

The Isobaric is the closest to the War of the World horns

I actually looked for a thread to comment on how bad these are. The other War Horns have been great, but these are just plain awful.
