Would this balance the game?

It would unbalance it I think. The main advantage weaponwise clans have are better lasers. This is kind of offset by the IS PPFLD ACs. If you had Clan lasers with IS ACs.... well, that'd be a scary mech.

Yeah, take our lasers. Good luck fitting enough double heatsinks to cool them.

The DGN-1C and Kintaro's could definitely benefit from clanner tech, but never going to happen and shouldn't ever happen.

Clan mechs would be able to fit lame inner sphere weapons as well, which basically boils down to the ultra-autocannon 5 I think

IS autocannons on Clan mechs? That would be sweet!

I don't think it is that far fetched.

After all, Clan mechs and Inner Sphere mechs fight alongside each other all day in Pugland.

Either CW could adhere to strict Clan or Inner Sphere only tech bases with anything goes in Pugland

OR

Some sort of "Clan/IS adapter" 1 slot .5 ton component that allows an arm or torso to utilize clan/IS weapons. Or perhaps Clan mechs can utilize IS weapons without an adapter to maintain their superiority

lol no its bad enough having direwolves shoot through me to hit the big red targeting box around the enemy mech , last thing I want is some dumb ass in a crab or banshee doing it as well.

because Is Ac's can't be sprayed around the pilots using them take proper aim most of the time, I survived a game with 57% damage and only got hit by a couple of LL's by the 'enemy' team not long ago

That is a great example of lack of trigger discipline...

Drop with me, and you'll see me go out of my way to avoid delivering not so FF...

That's easy, I just won't stuff my mech with a 45 to 55 point laser alpha and deliriously expect it to run cool.

Not even remotely. Mixtech is the Mary Sue of 'Mech design even in TT, and in MWO it'd be even worse.

My thoughts

1) I would support letting inner sphere mechs mount clan guns. I prefer it to be one or the other, no mixed guns.

2) I would expect nerfs to clan weapons to be undone. If one can pick whether or not to use them, then they don't need to be nerfed.

3) Quirks should only apply to puretech.

If you are against Mixtech, are you also against Pugland being mixed or would you prefer all clan vs all IS 12v12?
