Same thing happened to me a couple days ago on Forest Colony. Was driving a King Crab in a firefight with an open CT, heard a component get destroyed (shoulder w/std engine) and betty started rattling off everything that blew off. Then I fell down on my back and went 3rd person, thought I was dead, but I could still shoot (crosshairs turned red, don't know if I did damage) and still had a CT. Then I thought, WTF, I have a standard, losing a shoulder shouldn't kill me. The enemy killed me right after I had that though, so no screenshots. Same bug though.
At the time, I just chalked it up to some server de-sync internet weirdness. I see I'm not alone.

I love how that Centurion tramples over you without giving a crap.

Let's hope this is an indication of knockdown and collisions coming back.
I would suggest that if anyone has this happen, try the G key, as I think it had something to do with getting the mech on its feet once on the ground. May or may not have been MWO, been too long without knockdown.

I get this bug every now and then, I think it is to do with the mech getting killed on the server but the client thinking it is still alive. Probably given a very low priority because it doesn't interfere with gameplay (other than missing out on being a spectator).

I had this happen ages ago. You are "still alive" and can do damage with your weapons, however pressing F4 to go back into first person will cause the server to recheck your status and realise that you are actually dead.
I believe it's cause by a rounding/desync bug where you're very close to death and the client/server don't quite match up. It'd be similar to the bug where you can get your ST destroyed but still have your arm attached.

Never in MWO, it was always automatic when knockdowns were in.

Knockdowns return confirmed!
(Old knockdowns)
(I didn't hate it, I loved it. Just hated the being thrown across the map when you're only 25 tons in a Commando; had that happen once where I was thrown across the map by a Dragon. Oh, and didn't like that I couldn't shoot while down or choose when to get up).

(So -- basically anything and everything related to subject thusly 'confirms' it, even if it doesn't really).
