In my humble opinion, MW4 intro is THE Mechwarrior video ever made, period.
That's not saying there aren't small things(most of which has to do with Sigma Lance) that have bugged me even before I knew anything about the BT universe though.

Refer to this video for all time-stamps

1) Clan Davion confirmed? From 1:50-1:54 We can clearly see there were 5 mechs leaving the hanger: S-1,2(Mad Dog, Shadow Cat) S-3,4(Cougar, Raven) and a mysterious 5th raven powering up in the mech bay to the right of S2 at 1:51. Now I'm no expert, but I thought only Clans have 5-mech formations?

2) Did S-3-5 stopped for tea or something? Lets look the following 3 segments of the intro:
A ) From 0:42-0:46 we can see there is a significant distance between the Palace door and Sigma Lance's hanger door.
B ) From 1:58-2:00, we can see the mechs were around 10m apart
C ) From 2:07-2:12, we can see S-1 and S-2 have already passed the palace door when S-2 noticed Lurms heading toward the hanger, but S-3 was just cleared of the hanger entrance and got caught in the explosion along with the remaining Sigma.

3) Lurmageddon. The hanger was destroyed by lurm, S-1 and 2 destroyed lurm launchers with lurm, S-2 was also destroyed by lurm. S-1 launched all his lurm at the Steiner lance.

4) (Lack of )Davion logistic. With the exception of S-1, every mech of Sigma lance exploded after receiving no more than 5 damage. I know cannon armor values were half of what we have in MWO, but holy **** what the hell were those mechs made off? I've seen cardboard boxes take more damage than those mechs. Also S-1 apparently only has two salvo worth of lurms.

5) Joystick. 3:36-3:38. Like, seriously? Get a mechanical keyboard and Razor mouse scrub. Do you even MLG? Also, where the **** were you aiming? God you pugs piss me off.....

6) Rear view mirror/back up camera is still Lostech during Fed-Com Civil War.
Back up to 2:14, S-3 looked back as lurms flew past him into the hanger, not that he'd able to see anything... I mean, how anyone can get a field of view more than 120 degree is really beyond me.Posted Image

For your enjoyment, here are Chinese and Japanese dubbed intro.
Not sure if it's just me, but these felt a lot more powerful because they weren't as monotone as the English version.

Heil from grammarnaziland! It's hangar. HangAr. Hanger is something that hangs, like huge installations suspended in mid air in the good old AvP2 game. Also, can someone explain to me the turret thingy on the Mad Doge?

P.S. This topic officially made my day.
P.P.S. Japanese vision = best. ^.^ Nippon Banzai!

1) This is the 3060's, more specifically 3066.

Most inner sphere factions (Specifically Kurita, Stiener, and Davion) have Clan technology.
For eg lets take the MW4 "hero mechs" for a test...

===Medium==

===========
===Heavy===

=============
===Assault===

(All from MW4: mercs, some are in MW4: v)

So we see here a lot of Clan and Inner sphere mechs that are all used by inner sphere pilots
Another thing is all 10 of the IS mechs in this list use clan tech as well...

Another note is that the Vulture / Mad dog you saw in the video is the "Inner sphere built" Mad Dog. Thus the reason it was in use by the Davions.

"Clan Davion" busted. This is the norm of 3066. In fact some IS tech is infront of Clan tech ie heavy/ light gauss rifles. X-pulse lasers, capacitors, etc...

2) Traffic, single file line formation was the original exit formation ,it took some time to get out and thus they suffered for this as the battle raged on.

3) Those could be HE mounted LRM warheads. "Thunder LRM's" Which deal splash damage and more then normal damage. Which could explain how it took out the complex and thus taking out the 3 mechs the same way in the MW5 trailer the warhammer took out hte jenner, enviroment

4) The Cougar, and 2 ravens (Sigma 3,4, and 5) are in light mechs caught in an explosion and falling building. These will be excluded for now.

The Shadowcat (Sigma 2) was hit by 2 Arrow Thunder IV's, doing 20 damage each (+ 10 damage splash or so IF this was the explosive swarm kind).

That'll be enough to 1 hit kill a shadowcat for sure...

5) Good thing video games is a 100% representation irl aye?

6) just a reaction that most human beings have, he saw it come by, his head followed.

Rear view cameras are actually a thing in the fed com civil war.

EDIT: actually it was 3 Arrows incoming! not 2. So that's 20 x 3 = 60 damage incoming with 10 splash each possible being 30 splash...

You know, in hangar they storage probably ammo, and other HE stuff.
Hangar was destroyed, and every thing was exploding.
High temp. and ammo exploding, HE wave can do this to mechs.
Ther is many 3066 weapons in this cinematic. Arrow, X-Pulse etc.

About sigma lance. In others Mechwarrior games, in hangar you have even 6 mech place.
And we don't know that they all was in one lance:/

Lance = 4 mechs.

Video = 6 mechs.

It's a lance and a half.

common formation of mechs are...

1 mech
4 mech
6 mech
8 mech
12 mech

6 is the sweat spot for most efficiency verse drop costs. Sigma lances is a more appropriate term here.

1) I was referring to the number of mechs leaving the hanger, not really the tech base of the mechs......

2) Still having a hard time believing the traffic theory....... I mean, the interval between all mechs in the hanger were more or less the same, and S-1 and S-2 were a good distance from the hanger already when the LRMs hit....

Considering the fact the raven is (stock wise) one of the slowest IS light 'normal' mechs (aka no urban) and the cougar is more of a huge gun platform.

So you got 3 mechs there that isn't exactly the fastest or most agile. and there is a set 'safety distance' in modern and older vehicles and such when entering/ exiting a hanger OR taking of of landing. Normally when things get to close sh*t happens.

This is why there was space and not a door-cramming competition.

Also at 1)... so wait. you mean a faction is a clan if they deploy 6 mechs?

Damn... I guess clans are not really clans after all and that every IS faction is a clan...
