When MWO first came out i tried it, and one thing bugged me. The wait if you died during a match, the same kind of boring wait that is in counterstrike.
In a game like this if you die fast you have a long wait to play again.
Is this still an issue with the game? are there any game modes without this long wait? has it been removed?
No I'm not trolling, i just hate breaks in the action and this break in the action is what made me first turn to another mech game that will not be named.
thanks

Quit the match immediately, you'll still get all your payouts.
Jump into another mech that you have (or a trial mech if you don't) and get right back into the saddle. When the first match is finally resolved, the mech you were using will get unlocked and you can go back to it for another round.

I remember back then. When you died you could only see your dead mech and nothing else.
Now you get spectator cameras as well as being able to simply leave the match to start another one right away.

Give Community Warfare a shot, it's a little more complicated than your typical 12v12 pug drop, but you are given your choice of 4 mechs to bring into a match (so long as their tonnage adds up to 250 tons or under, or 240 tons for clan mechs) once one of your mechs is destroyed, you drop in the next chosen mech until all 4 have been destroyed, CW respawns work in waves, so it can be as long as 30 seconds (i think) or nearly instantly.

Please dont point new players to CW. Let them get used to playing their mechs (multiple at that mechs), playing as a team and using various tactics.
Most new players are absolutely devastated by CW, as there is no separation of solo players and grouped players. Quite often the solo players end up using Trial mechs (which are deffinitely better than the old stock trial mechs) and thinking it will be like a PUG game where everyone does their own thing. Then they come to the forums to complain that grouped players are absolutley dominating them.
Once you are happy with the way you play and the way you can play as a team with the other 11 players on your side, then you should try CW by all means, but until then you are better off without that part of the game, as it is considered to be the end game content for MWO at the moment.

Close, but not quite. Any Assist rewards (you damaged a mech that is later brought down) that are still unresolved when you disconnect from the match are not added to your total.
For instance, you manage to damage 5 enemy mechs and then die. One of those 5 mechs is already dead, disconnect now and you'll only be rewarded with a single assist. If you keep watching and another of those 5 mechs dies you can disconnect with 2 assists, etc.
Try and get a feel of how the match will go. If your team is already behind by 4-5 kills it is likely to be stomped and there's a low chance of more enemy mechs being destroyed. Leaving at such a time will likely incurr little loss. Conversely when your team is doing well it pays to stick around. The question is if it will pay as much as jumping into another match now, though I have to agree with one of the other posters, while spectating you can learn valuable lessons from your fellow pilots, both things that you should and shouldn't do.

@ OP
The time you do spectating is called "reading the flow of battle".
In short, tactics. There is that small radar view bottom center of the screen.
You can choose not to learn it, quit the match and join another with a different mech. Your last used mech remains locked until the match ends.
