Thinking about dropping 900 mc on this bad boy. never been a fan of the locusts, but this one seems to be kinda fun from what I can tell, spectating people. My question, are there enough lulz in this mech to have some sort of fun? even though it may be a paper machete bug running at 150?

If you don't like the Locusts I wouldn't bother.

I shouldnt say i dont like them, just would rather be playing my raven or ember for lights. ECM might come in handy though...

Can confirm there are limited lulz.

PB was probably the last Hero mech I'll ever buy.

Here's the list of lulz I thought I would have with the PB:
  • Super role warfare pr0 scout with ECM, BAP and ER LL. No lulz.
  • 4 ML + 2 MG ECM harasser. No lulz. Now I have epilepsy.
  • PPC + ECM sniper. No lulz, the Spider does this better.
  • ER LL + TAG money maker. Meh.
Kind of regret this purchase, as I over-estimated how fun it would be to just run around unnoticed in a tiny mech.

If you don't have the "Huggins" for whatever reason - get it. If you got it - PB is 10% of Huggins lulz.

Machine gun blinds you so be prepared.

I have a phoenix LCT 1V and I love it. I have well over 300,000 exp on it.

If you like a challenge I would recommend the LCT only so you can brag that you rocked in it.

Sure, it's just a simple calculation of how much you're playing it. I play the PB very rarely, so it's still expensive when I consider the amount of money per match played. By comparison, the Ilya Muromets was dirt cheap.

Tweak the armor, 2 ml, 2sl makes it a stock+ 1E with ECM. Absolutely glorious mech. I've been waiting for it to go on sale, too!

I thought you were asking about getting a Pretty Baby, and the answer would have been an emphatic "No!"

As is, the Pirate's Bane isn't a bad little mech, but it's fragile, like any Locust. The downside to it is that unlike in a normal Locust, people are more likely to prioritize you as a target because you have ECM; normal LCTs rely on being low-priority targets to survive and deal damage.

The pirate's bane is more effective for covershooting and hit and run, where as other locusts exist on creating chaos in firefights between heavies.

I am a LCT fan and almost never drive it. ECM isn't enough to cover its shortcomings vs. the 3M and now 1E.

If you can handle the stopping distance...

Still no. Unless it actually is for the LULZ, because a sense of humour is what you need with that hulking behemoth!

EDIT: HA, thought you were talking about the Awesome. In that case, sure, knock yourself out

I just bought one last night, since I needed a light hero, that didn't suck, like the current clan offerings, and since I actually like Locusts... First match out in a bone stock Pirate's Bane, and I got a match score just shy of 70, and 12 assists. So yea, I'd recommend it.

PB is the only hero mech I own, and I gotta say I enjoy it. Just 4 ML and ecm, guard assaults, and get some hits in. I've had fun running it so far.
