Hello fellow Mechwarriors,

I wanted to share my appreciation of the current challenge.

I feel that this time PGI nailed it.

I criticized some of the last challanges, but this is a lot of fun.

People are bringing non-meta mechs around, and trying to up their game to get the necessary points.

I haven't been having so much fun in this game for awhile.

Some people might think it's a bit too easy, or that the fact that you have to use "paid" mechs is unjust, but I think that the general idea (use certain non-meta mechs+match score) is the way to go.

What do you guys think?

Edit: sorry for the misspell in the title :(

Edit 2: thx to Mcgral18 for pointing out how to fix the title!

Use the Full Editor, while you edit your post. It allows you to change the title.

I agree and think this is one of the best events we have had. No the prize is not a great mech or tons of hand outs but c~bills are nice and somethings I will actually use. I have had better matches this weekend that I have had in a long time. With people just out playing for a good time and true to the map not just 8 guys shooting uber alphas into your back trying to steal that kill you have been hammering on.

Much appreciated PGI and this would be a great event to have the weekend after new mechs are released. It would give people a chance to enjoy their new mech and try new builds and not just beating each other to death for a k/a/w scenario.

While I always enjoy the influx of cbills, normal acquisition shouldn't be so bad that this event feels amazing.

on friday PGI was like, dude fuggles, you should play some MWO.

i was like sure, i was planning on doing that.

they were like, if you play, well give you extra money per match.

i was like, yeah ok i was gonna play anyway.

they were like, if you play a hero mech, well pay you even more.

i was like, on top of the hero bonus? no way, does my anniversary king crab count? i was gonna play that anyway.

they were like heck yeah it does!

so i was like whats the catch?

they were like, all you have to do is score 30 match points.

i was like, i do that anyway.

they were like, oh and were gonna cap it per weight class to 20.

and i was like, so you mean the Ques are going to be even through the event then so i can actually play my invasion hellbringer and not feel bad about it?

they were like heck yeah!

and i played, and i made money and it was amazing....

Totally agree.
People seem to be working together a bit more, and VOIP usage seems to have gone up.
Had one pug match were someone was even calling targets for focus fire. Red team didn't stand a chance. :P

Enjoying the challenge also, really feeling that this style allows me to have an excellent chance of having 'every match count'.

Also nice to see 'a field of Heroes', as it were... :)

I like the match score format, it encourages actual balanced team gameplay instead of race for kills, or not wanting to killshot and other dumb behavior.

Kill frenzy events do have their place, they can be a change from normal gameplay occasionally. But the majority of events are better in this format I think.

To make it harder the match score threshold can simply be increased.

Just now thinking of it, this "event" should almost be integrated into the Cbill generation at the end

Like you get 10K cbills for every 10 match score you get. This would really mean you get paid for playing well. So, 170K for your performance in the game, a match score of 98 nets you an extra 98K cbills. Then toss in premium and mech bonuses.

Oh I did (I even got to the point were I could pay for the game sub with isk). And I'm not saying this event is not a lot of fun.
