first of all, love the game, truly. Only game I've ever played for more than two years straight, exclusively, without getting tired of. A lot of that is due to the fact that buying a new mech makes everything new. However, there are only so many ways you can arrange the same handful of weapons over and over again without it becoming a little stale.

I know we're doing a timeline restriction, and I know that we're trying to keep it faithful to lore. I also know that some liberties have been taken when necessary. Here's a few ideas:

We need a small ballistic....bigger than a machine gun and smaller than an ac2. How about adapting mech rifles? Make, essentially, an ac1 called a mech rifle....mechanics similar to ac2 only with one point of damage, 2-3 tons for the weapon, and more ammo per ton. It would help transform the roles that lights with ballistic slots.

Area of effect weapons? Miss the good old days of grenade launchers? Maybe integrate mech mortars in that fashion. Let us lob something in an arc trajectory that does area of effect....think something like individual shells from artillery or air strike as mounted weapon. Sort of like the long tom in the old MW games.

Rockets....long range stream of unguided rockets....sort of like srms but with a longer range and speed....also streams out like clan lrms.

Of course, we're looking forward to light and heavy ppcs, gauss, etc. Some variety in weaponry will be a great addition to the game.

I don't care if there are other threads....it can't be begged for enough.
