Hi. I'm an experienced Mechwarrior fan and I'm really excited to play this game. I'm wondering if I can play directly from the browser instead of having to download and installing it? Hope to get an answer soon. :D

This is not a browser game, it is an actual game that needs to be downloaded.

I don't know if it was your intention, but please don't treat browser games as if they're somehow not real games. It's insulting to anyone who works on them or supports their development.

It answered the question wasn't a read between the lines type of thing.

Your post implies browser games are not real games, if that's not what you intended you might want to word your posts a bit more carefully in the future so as to not create any additional misconceptions.
There's plenty of time to write and edit a post before you submit it, so people will generally assume that every word of it was intended exactly as written.

"could you get me some popcorn, honey?"

Even if it was intentionally implied that browser games are "less", who cares... it's just an opinion. Don't make such an issue from it. You've made your point in post #7, let that be the end of it.

And about insulting: your name could very well be considdered exactlyl that by a whole bunch of religious people.

I don't think Cryengine would take well to being run through a browser...

I wouldn't have posted again because as far as I'm concerned my interactions with Corbenik were done, but your condescending attempt at amateur moderation warrants a response.
Everything on this forum is "just an opinion" until proven otherwise, so I'll make an issue out of whatever I damn well want as long as the rules allow, just like everyone else here.

As someone who has helped fund several browser games purely the love of gaming, I am personally offended when someone who should know better casually dismisses them. That is the exact same kind of treatment gaming as a whole gets from literally anyone who isn't a gamer, because they feel gaming is beneath them and that kind of behavior I won't silently accept from anyone, especially not from another gamer.
Now if you have anything useful to add please do, but either participate in a discussion or stay out of it because without a shiny moderator title you don't get to tell anyone to shut up.

About my name, if anyone has a problem with it they can say so in a PM because discussing religion isn't allowed on the forums. I won't change the name I've used for the last 10 years, but your input will be valued nonetheless.
However if it's going to be the same question I usually get when the topic comes up, the answer is no.

You have the right to be offended, We have the right not to care.

Of course I am just playing Devils Advocate here, or ..is it Angels Advocate this time around? ;U

You most definitely do have that right, but Bible Belt up there ( Staphorst maybe? Do they even have computers there? ) does not have the right to moderate. That kind of behavior will get you banned on most forums if you keep it up.

I don't think he was trying to 'bible thump" you. Simply saying that your name may be more offensive then what he said.

so .. Let us Recap. you like Browser games, Not many others do or think of them as serious. Because let's be honest the vast majority of Browser game companies are absolute trash and utter drek.

Your name may be offensive to others. Oh well. Just like I am not going to be able to convince you to change your name, You are not going to be able to convince me or others to call Browser games "real games"

There is a reason Nintendo lost money when it went to casual gamers and didn't put out any of its well known and highly celebrated IPs after all.

You haven't ever been on any good game portals have you? I assume you're referring to companies like Zynga or Gameforge, companies like that are basically the EA and Activision of browser gaming, if you want anything fresh or original, you're not going to find it with them. Try armor games, or kongregate, newgrounds or any other decent portal and check out some of the highest rated games, you'd be surprised. There's even a couple of actually good browser MMOs now, and I'm saying that as someone who usually doesn't like MMOs.

About Nintendo supposedly losing money by catering to casual gamers, you do remember the Wii right? The most profitable thing to be released during the previous console generation? A platform that catered specifically to non gamers and casual gamers? Nintendo didn't lose money by catering to casual gamers, they lost money by releasing basically the same system with updated specs for this generation for an audience that doesn't want the latest and greatest when the old system still works just fine.

Newgrounds is meant to be a place for indie groups. No one ever put anything up there to make money, only show their skill. While there are some good games on there, the Some of the best ones moved onto actual systems.

and no. Nintendo suffered because even thought they sold the most consoles of the three, they only pushed out half ass games of the main titles. .. as a Nintendo fan I would know this. They did not put out any "real games" it has nothing to do with the fact the Wii is less powerful, The same reason they where suffering with the Wii U..which is a strong strong system. It wasn't the hardware inside, it was the fact it had no line up of games any one really cares about or gets the system just for.

This is off topic any how, Pointis, don't be butt hurt if people don't see Browser games as real games. Because we still are not gonna care.

Nowadays we have people running flash based MMOs or developing series that are completely crowdfunded. Things have changed a bit since 2005. It's interesting that you focused solely on Newgrounds, as Armor games and Kongregate are two of the biggest sponsors of flash games out there, and for just a vanity plate and a couple of links to their site in a game they'll pay a very decent amount if you give them something worth sponsoring. So that's people making an actual living developing actual games.
