I loved playing my adder when I had it, but I've since swapped over to the IS and I'm struggling to find a light that plays similarly. The adder when I played it felt like a small but tough mech that could deliver a punch and get out, it wasn't especially fast but it could take some punishment. I was wondering what IS light do you think could play like it?

Any 35t IS mech is equally tough, if not tougher, because of better (humanoid) hit boxes. The only advantage is the clan XL.

SRM Adder = Jenner Oxide hero
SRM mix E adder = Raven 2X, Raven 3L, Any Jenner that has both M and E
LRM = Oxide (4 LRM 5), Raven (LRM 15) or (2 x LRM 1) note: will be much lower then the adders capacity which is practically double that of either mech
ER PPC = Panther (the one with PPC quirks)
Ballistics = Urbanmech, Panther (the one with a B hardpoint), Cicada (the one with B hardpoint?), blackjack (any with B hardpoint)
Large lasers / Er large lasers = Raven, panther, Cicada.

Have to mention now that no IS mech is really an adder, the adder is quite unique and holds the record for highest firepower for a light and it breaks the stereotype of light mecsh from scout/ recon/ spotter/ anti personal and light craft work etc to long range fire support and brawling.

You probably need to delve more into the medium mech range (Trebuchet, blackjack, shadowhawk, griffin, etc) to get the resault you may want.

I haven't played Adders, but your description of the play style reminds me a lot of Panthers. They are tanky for a light, can carry relatively heavy armament in the right arm, but speedwise are more like a fast medium. They essentially play like "underweight mediums", which is often also said of Adders and Kit Foxes.

I like to go against the grain and put an STD-200 in mine. This makes them supremely tanky, but still able to break 100 kph, while carrying a couple of large lasers and an SRM launcher for backup. Example: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...514990098906fe7

Nightshade24 gave a good suggestion but as he said, Clan hardware cannot be replicated on IS 'Mechs. One thing for sure, no IS Light can do Gauss + 2 medium lasers like Adder can.

Maybe try playing with Cicada (smurphy) and see if it can imitate you Adder loadout (not sure if it can because I don't own any).

I'd also suggest that the Cicada may come closest to what you want... Though no IS mech can match the sheer lightness of clan missile racks. I've done a LRM40 with a single ERML as backup on an Adder, I can't do the same on a Cicada (though I've done an LRM30 before) or even a Hunchie 4J (though it does a fast LRM20). And it takes a Griffin to match the quad SRM builds you can do on an Adder. A Cicada (3M) can at least do a laser+UAC5 build and it even has ECM.
