Some macros are just plain stupid though.
I would bet that King Crab I once saw with the non-stop firing MGs was using one, they even fired when he had no ammo and after he died!

Just remember macro is spelled one way because Macro is from a game now gone.

Macros aren't always used for bad, and either way anyone with a Logitech or Razer or any gaming mouse already has the software for it, so there's absolutely no way for this to be instantiated.


Rather, they can just correct the implementations in the game (by making jump jets jump, not float) to make it so the macros can't abuse something. That's how you solve problems, by thinking and using your brain.

Probably comes from games like old Runescape where macros to automate the repetitive game were a real issue, eg walk to rock, mine rock, walk to bank, deposit, repeat 24/7 then be rich.
Everything cheating in that game seemed to get called "macroing" and attempts to stop it caused more harassment for honest players than the cheats.

People need to get it into their head that a macro only pushes keyboard and mouse buttons. Anything else is not a macro.

In this game they give no real advantage, and what advantage they do give could be fixed very quickly.
- Faster autofire: Simply add another chainfire mode without the 0.5sec delay
- TAG lock: Why is there not a TAG toggle button yet! Other things can toggle.
- JJ feathering: Ignition delay and/or minimum burn time will remove the exploit.

Wasted effort to police illegal macro use, just remove the reasons to use them and they become a non issue.
