I can't figure out how to change my mouse button assignments. No matter what I click on or what I do nothing happens. How is it done?

Are you going to the Keyboard tab in Settings?





You need to double click the box you want you change so that you see 'Bind Key' as shown below. Then press the key you want to assign:





And if the key is already assigned you'd get a pop up telling you, and asks you to confirm your change. Example in the spoiler tag below:

There's a lot about this game that is buried all over the place. We can answer your questions here though. and I can link some videos worth checking out too.

LOL. Manual? We don't no stinkin' manual!

In all seriousness though, there is no manual for this game and the tutorials leave a lot to be desired. On the up side though, MWO has a pretty active group on this forum that is willing to answer questions fairly quickly.

I will say that I prefer mapping using mouse software. I have a Corsair M65 I bought for MWO with a honking great zoom button on the thumb side, it looks goofy as can be but I love it. I set that button to register as a Z keypress, so I can zoom with the mouse, but if I'm using weapon groups four or five which are also on that side of the mouse, I can still use the Z key on the actual keyboard.
