I'm of the opinion now that we have clans we could use a change to how innersphere XLs work.

I'd like them to work like clan XLs currently. Lose both sides and you die but 1 is OK.

It has been a long time since it was STD vs XL and this would make the XL more viable and a necessary option for innersphere mechs.

This could probably make IS XL the go-to choice on the vast majority of mechs, maybe just excluding the ones that need the critslots in their sides to carry big ballistics. That's about it though...

For the Clan XL nerf, I'd rather just start out with 10% less speed and 40-50% internal heatsink loss than PGI's proposed 20% speed and 20% internal sink loss.

I think they should just leave both sides be and give the "clan OP, IS OP" knitting circles the giant bird

IS XL don't need to be buffed - clans however do need to be penalized for losing a side torso just like in battletech but the game also needs a proper heat system as well.

Nope.

The movement speed nerfs are inline with Classic Battletech in regards to movement profile modification after engine hits.

I would like to see engine hits further implimented, and expanded to cover IS Standard and XL engines as well. For decressed preformance per critical hit.

What? No.
IS XL are suppose to get you killed if you lose a ST. It has been the rule since the very beginning, posed no problem to players except guys unable to understand basic of the game.

Beside, they will get the Extra-light engine in the futur.

Bad bad idea. No reason not to take XL for IS mechs then and IS becomes way overpowered.

Reducing cooling and speed for a clan mech losing a torso is right. If you lose a big chunk of your engine you should slow down. And since half your weapons are gone losing some of the engine heat sinks won't be a big penalty.
