I find it a little odd that the Zeus, which weighs 80tons gets a large movement archetype and the Grasshopper who's at 70tons gets a huge archetype.

They are fixing it in a couple of days.

Russ already acknowledged it and it penciled in to get changed soon....whatever soon is. :P

I think the Zeus is Huge type now, it's very slow to stop/start/twist. So maybe just a typo?

I don't think archetype has anything to do with stop/start/twist; it's mostly about dealing with terrain obstructions and hill climbing.

Currently it's assigned based on mech height. They're planning to fix that this week according to a twitter post someone pointed to in another thread.

Well I have a 355 XL in my Zeus and it's very slug-like.

Zeus seems alright to me. Got 4 kills and top score in my first go in one.

We really need to wait a week before we decide if it is good or bad, though. A few hours isn't enough time to see trends yet.

The "Huge Archtype for the Grasshopper is a mistake, and PGI already knows about it. In fact Russ tweeted about a possible hotfix coming this week to change the Grasshopper to Large archtype. He tweeted that Monday, in fact.

Well if you look at them side by side, the grashopper is actually bigger than the zeus

Not at all. I'm finding LPL+3ML+Gauss plenty effective.

I heard the archetype doesn't affect movement, only inclines, as per Russ' twitter.

I'll get you the source.

One more admission for the day to let everyone fully vent - just found out the Grasshopper has the "HUGE" archtype - Bishop you were right.

Eric Heggie@ericheggie Mar 16
@russ_bullock does this make its torso twisting horrible?

Russ Bullock@russ_bullock
@ericheggie no I think just moving up inclines.
