Since you apparently can't read the thread, I'm asking what the deal is because PGI said they would change it months ago and it never happened with no explanation as to why.

I don't really agree, I think the flight speed is just right and a few mechs already have small missile velocity quirks which covers it well enough if you ask me. When the flight speed was buffed to 175 m/s (up from 120 m/s which was laughably slow) there were a lot of complaints that LRMs moved too fast, so it was bumped down to 160 m/s and that's just the right speed to make it a threat but not too fast either.

Restrict indirect fire to only when TAG/NARC/UAV is in play...lower the arc of direct fire to near parallel to the ground and increase flight speed to 250m/s or more. Restore GECM to how it works in TT.


I don't want to discuss it too much because there are other threads about the topic, but that would basically neuter indirect fire completely so I don't agree at all.

Trebs need all the help they can get to make up for the fact that; like the awesome, they are huge.

When a hunchback is a much better LRM boat than a Treb.. you know the balance is a bit off...

How much crap would PGI get if the TBT-7K was a better AC medium than the Hunchie? lol

For anybody else who was wondering about this, I finally got a response from Support about it earlier and they told me they made a mistake when posting the quirks in the thread linked with the 3/17 patch notes. I'm not really sure if the quirks they posted were actually a mistake or if they intended to do it but then changed their minds, but I'm not going to argue about it because I don't really have anything to back that up and it doesn't really matter much either way.

Who is to say that cbill/xp rewards couldn't be upped for the mechs assisting the indirect LRM firing mechs at the same time the proposed changes went into effect?

Of course, rewards will probably never be changed either, so...
