Ok, so now since all the supposed fixes and optimizations I have started experiencing issues where I'll crash to desktop and not be able to restart the game as it locks at the portion of the startup where all the Nvidia, PGI, etc. splash screens start.
Is there a way to get rid of those ******* wastes of time and resources?

They're called bumpers, and to my knowledge there isn't a way. I know there was a bumpers .xml file that allowed us to automatically skip them and start right at the log-in screen, but that has stopped working a long time ago.
If there is a way, I'm not currently aware of one.

Press any key to skip them?

I never used to CTD. I now crash 5 or 6 times a night, often in the middle of a match with my mech going full speed across the map (and it continues to do so while I am not in-game).
These stupid splash screens eat up time that could spell the difference between getting in before I die, or not. If it only happened once, no big deal, but I am crashing so much lately that it's causing my blood pressure to spike.

Unfortunately, those product placements are probably required by license or contract. PGI is still a commercial entity and needs to respect certain things.
I'm willing to settle for somewhat fewer screens though. Tapping the spacebar thrice (or more if you aren't paying attention to the sequence) can get a bit repetitious.

I've also started to CTD pretty freakin' often, but for me I'm at least lucky enough to always get it when the match starts rather than in the middle of it. It still happens ridiculously often though.

1. This is MWO Online (it said so at least 3 times before I even got to the splash screen sequence).
2. This is a CryEngine game (though some times I find it hard to believe that CryEngine would want to admit to it).
3. This game is 'optimized' for Nvidia (again something I sometimes feel NVidia would rather not let be known).
4. That PGI wrote the dang thing.
Seriously, at SOME POINT, just trust that the customer understands all this...

Well, I realize that corporations count on the stupidity and short memories of the paying public to get away with as much **** as they seem to be regularly getting away with, but again, after the umpteenth trillionth time, I don't think I'll ever be able to forget that:

Hehe there should be an installation-level "achievement" that lets you turn them off after you watched them 100 times or so.
Would be funny, but still kind of fair.

If these bumpers bother you, OP, never play an EA game. Just... don't.

Secondly, and not to derail my own thread, I disagree that these are 'bumpers', these are 'splashes'.
A 'bumper' is what you put between something, a transition, like the map loading screen when we're dropping into a match. That could be considered a bumper. It fills what would otherwise be an 'empty space' while something loads up in the background. My understanding is that it's a term that originated in radio, something to avoid 'dead air'. Something that the screens we see don't really do.
An 'intro' is what you have at the beginning of a game that shows some sort of 'action' and gives the first timer some sort of idea of what they'll be seeing, maybe even provides some background for the game, an attempt to raise the level of excitement about the game we're about to start playing. Obviously these screens we see at the beginning don't do this.
A 'splash' is nothing more than a useless advertisement, it serves no actual game function, other than to provide companies some 'ego-bation' (masturbation of their egos), hence the term 'splash'.
