Reistance Colors and patterns - It looks like these cannot be applied to mech not in the pacK?

Colours can patterns cannot.

It is believed that these patterns are meant to be earned through CW rewards at some point, at least that's what was suggested in 2014's launch party.

If you read the description on the Resistance page, at the bottom of each package's info, it says the faction patterns are for the mechs included in whatever level package was purchased. The colors on the other hand, once unlocked, can be used on any mech you own.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; in this case, reading all of the fine print would allow for a better understanding of what you are getting without needing to ask a silly question.

The patterns in any 'Mech pack are only unlocked for the 'Mechs included in the pack, whereas colors, having only global unlocks, are unlocked for ALL owned 'Mechs. And purchasing any pattern for any 'Mech (preferably "unlock" rather than "one-shot", though the latter offers a 90% savings on MC) only unlocks the pattern for the selected 'Mech.

But none of that is new information.
