I thought I read somewhere there was a way to select only Assault or Conquest or Skirmish?
Looked around UI and can't find anything....?

Right next to the play now button, you'll see a small arrow. When you press it, you'll see the game modes marged with cecks. This means that they're all "favored". Due to the relatively low amount of players we have, the MM was reworked to not consider the coices as "will play" and "won't play" but rater "favored mode(s)" and "unfavored mode(s)". If you only check Assault for example, the MM might still match you with Conquest or Skirmish if it decides that it will get better matching that way. If you check Assault and Skirmish though, getting conquest will be very low, as there will usually always be people to match with in either mode.

This is the new player help... Please insert your wish into one of the hundred other "please give us gamemode select"-threads...

Voting is much better. Ups the learning curve of the game is all. Supposed to be a war time environment. You don't generally get to pick and choose your orders

Unless you are ambushed you generally have an idea of the forces you are facing and you KNOW where you are fighting and WHAT the mission is before combat.... so you have an idea of what to bring you wont go to alpine peaks with your brawler if you know you are going there, will you?
Also, responding to a thread where ever it is is against the "rules" how?
I did a search and this one came up, if there are better threads for it fine, fix the search engine and they will come up, thank you.

voting is, in my opinion, better because it has much improved match quality, I would not be opposed to allowing each player a dropdeck (made up of a single weight class) so you can pick the best Mech for the Map, but you you are responding to a thread about game mode select not map select, fair enough you would not take the capture accelerator module for a skirmish map and you would probably not deliberately take a Dire Wolf for Conquest but other than those 2 situations the mode does not really affect the ideal build, the map has a lot more impact on that
It is not against the rules, to post such comments in New Player Help it is just highly unlikely that PGI will see it, it has been more than 6 months since the last PGI post in New Player Help

Yes, you are correct, I should have made a different example than the map... point is the same though especially the way this game is set up.
If we had the ability to save two or three valid load outs for each mech then you could choose which one to use when the map/game type is selected, this I think would allow more reasonable use of mech, i.e. cap accelerator vs range module, large laser vs med so on.
PGI actually reads posts? Really?
