It is obvious someone wants all Mechs to "Asplode" no matter where they get hit.
Why would killing the Pilot cause a Mech to "Asplode" exactly?
P.S. Pursang gets +1 internets for the graphic..

'None of the Above', was left out. Not because I don't want salvage and explosions, but because the choices left out certain 'mech-death inherents and the question of whether the Salvage is generated or stripped from the defeated player's inventory.
To the latter issue of Salvage, yes, but only if it is generated/ not stripped from the other player.
As to how 'Mechs die I would like it to be modeled after the BT Lore. You overheat massively or have a core breach=core meltdown=critical mass=atomic event causing AoE damage. Or, the 'Mech takes critical hit damage and falls over in a smoking robotic mass.
And one more thing. There should be ejection, view from ejection pod. Maybe half or everytime, but it should be part of the experience.
BTW, I scripted a MW4 Mercs mission where if you get defeated on the mission you get the view from the ejection pod as best as MW4 can accomadate this. http://the-maproom.com/BigIslands.html Big Islands is the MP map, Wolfhead Narrows is the SP mission. (because there is a cap on how many SP missions the Instant Action menu in MW4 can show 'W'olfshead might not show if you have alot of custom SP missions already.) However, if you look at the bottom screenshot, you can see the result.

Come on people... stop complaining about the poll, if you guys think this is pointless, then just simply dont get involved.
About, the topic of discussion... hitting exclusively the cockpit and killing the pilot won't make mechs to explode, unless, as someone said before, theres also damage in other critical points.
About the salvage, I think we need first some info about the game economics. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe that info has already been given, in that case I apologise myself... but, as we all know salvage are the pieces of equipement that are still functional and you can get em' from defeated warriors, so I asume that If Im the one defeated I will lose that equipment... and the thing is how did I get it... did I paid for it with real money o c-bills?... for example I just have bought my brand new Awesome, I received a direct hit at the cockpit and got killed, but the mech must be open for salvage...will I lose it?
Thx. for the patience.

How about it depends if the explosion does enough damage then it can be salvaged.
But if the explosion is minor, then yes salvage if it's standing or fallen.

IMO, 2 and 3 make the most sense.

Why would a mech explode if the cockpit is destroyed from a critical hit?
I chose 2 and 3 as Nakir said. It's the most reasonable and the way that the TT rules state.
And yes, I know Mechs aren't suppose to go Nova when their reactor is breached but I wouldn't mind having it in the game as that's one of the reasons we're here playing. We want to see big giant stompy robots blow the ever loving crap out of each other. Any incidental explosions we get along the way are just gravy.
Besides, if I recall, the chance for a mech to go "boom" from a reactor hit is extremely rare and if you don't give the pilot the option to suicide and detonate the mech on their own, it's a good little "Uh-oh" thing to have in the game.
