Truly this is sucking the fun out of the game.
Match maker or ELO you gotta do something.
One side or the other this just getting bad.
And I'm in a LRM barge most of the time.
Jeebus!
I can't imagine when the Steam Noobz arrive.

Those OP clan mechs sure didn't fair well against all those IS mechs who had top dmg on both sides.

Problem with your team is poor aim. Your top dmg guy wasn't too far off the CTF and damage across the board was decent.

If you don't press the R button and finish off a mech or learn to hit legs or CT and just spread damage then your team will LOSE.

PGI can't fix stupid or this game would be better already

Snake boy ya talkin to Novakaine.
Novakaine eats snakes for breakfast.
People ask Novakaine why all his mechs are painted red.
Novakaine tells em, "That's just Kurita kill markers splashed all over my mech."
Then the people say, "Novakaine yur a bad *****..........."
And Novakaine tells em, "Naw I just like killin snakes."
So slither off snake boy I just might need a new pair of boots.
And as for you Abi - git ta steppin.

Novakaine happens to be quite good with LRM's. Easily one of the best LRM pilots that I have have played with. If he can manage to herd the pugs, he always puts up good scores.

As long as we're blaming matchmaker for everything, I think the Locust needs a +5 carry weight quirk to offset the lotto.

In reality, it's usually a combination of things, and sometimes your team gets outplayed. A wrong move or two early on can lead to stompfests, despite your team being stacked or not.

I have played with Novakaine and he can wreck mechs. Hell it is a competition just to kill one before he does so that had to be a shart team 4 sure.

the resin elo doesn't work, is because elo was made to rank 1 vs 1 players against each other.

it doesn't work right when dealing with groups, specially larger groups like in mwo.

Actually I have (with others I talk to often) been noticing that the FUN has been sucked out of MWO due to terrible matchmaking..

I never thought I'd be complaining about this, but it seems match outcome can be predicted 90% of the time correctly just by looking at the Tags on people's names in the start screen.

I would love to be challenged, to play close games and to win/lose my a small margin. We are nowhere close right now.

I feel like alot of blame for ELO is misguided on how actual rounds of MWO plays out. In my experience in-game performance can matter very little as to what happens of the course of a round. A good example is 600 damage shooting at the front of mechs is not as effective as 400 damage shooting peoples behinds. As with most team games, the side which makes the first mistake will always fall behind. Within the first 4-6 frags you can typically deduce the final outcome of a match. Mechwarrior has snowballing simply due to the way it's combat plays out.

I personally believe there is a misconception that those matches decided by 1-2 frags should be the majority of games. People overlook the effort it takes to pull those kind of rounds is quite challenging for random pugs or micro-units to pull off. Remember that because this is 12 v 12 one mech might be a minor setback, two could become a challenge, three can be a struggle, and four could spell disaster. Everyone wants close games, but once a team starts falling behind the pressure for players to make up for those mistakes can't always be met.

In short, remember that a round of mechwarrior is a snowball waiting to form. Once a mistake occurs, its up to you and your friends to try to overcome that obstacle. The moment combat slides out of avor is the time when you as a player should realize and learn the routes to overcome those setbacks.

Remeber these over simplified words!

A- Keep yourself alive
B- Keep your teammates alive
C- Out positioning the opponent

TLDR: Mechwarrior Snowballs, games decided by 4 frags and less are a minority because of how snowballing works. ELO actually works in MWO

Personally, I think the concept or LRMs is a nice tactical element, but honestely: how can one be a "good LRM pilot"?
Does he press R real smoothly or something?
I played LRMs myself a lot in the beginning and the only skill you can possible have is to not fire your missiles into obvious cover. Oh and MAYBE even be smart enough to chose a King Crab over a Locust as the target.
The real skill stuff is up to the team mates (scout targets, hold locks, report targets in the open, don't die in the process).

You're right. LRMs do need a buff in speed or spread.
