it's a minor detail and some may say it's kind of against the rules of battletech (omg) but it would nicely fit clantech mgs. right now a clan mg weights 0.25 tonne but to pick it with ammo you should use at least 0.75 tonnes, if there were 0.25 tonne clips (obviously it's a losttech to make so short machine-gun belts -_-) you could pick a mg and ammo having just 0.5 tonne of free weight (and to have it in such 0.5 tonne quantities is extremely common)

I get what you are saying, though TBH, .5 per MG is about the perfect ammo load. But if you have odd numbers of ballistics.... it can be a pain to fit. Though TBH, any number of MGs under 4 are really a waste of time (and even 4 is debatable in value)

not really.....1 MG, even against structure, is pretty useless. Not that 1 SL is a home run, but it's about 5x more actually effective.

I can't think of any builds where it would help, 1/4 ammo would take a whole slot just like 1/2 ammo does.

Its for this reason I only use 1/2 clips if iv got no other option or im trying to waste some weight and iv got nothing better to do with the slot.

light mechs are usually limited by weight not by slots
you can easily get your main weapon and electronics and have like 0.5 free tonne and several free slots

id rather see 2t 2slot ac20 ammo so we can actually get 150dmg/ton like every other ballistic.

not having 0.25 tonne ammo hinders using any odd number of machine guns

i already told about 1 mg, but it's not the only case, for instance if you use 3 mgs they weight 0.75 tonne, no equipment weight 0.25 tonne, so you either leave 0.25 tonne unused or remove armor to get 0.5 tonne
0.25 tonne mg ammo would nicely fit there

I think this would only be good for a locust... in my opinion. I love the locust so we should do it. :P

Buff Machine Guns 2015!
I mean they're supposed to deal the same damage as AC2s, except at very close range.

Not that AC2s deal that much damage to begin with, but still!

Wouldn't mind them having their DPS increased from 0.8 (?) to ~2 (For comparison AC2 has the DPS of 2.7(?))
