We mustin' forget. As a business giving to the community is a big part of public relations. Can think of this as charitable giving.

Not to mention - most of the accumulated MC from this per player is what? Under 1,000 MC? Think of this as PGI throwing you a bone to the tune of about $3.

Good business move. I for one am very grateful.

I did this a while ago, so numbers won't be matching. But at the time I had 6,752,225mc for GXP, MC, and Mechbays.

Yep, it's good for them to do. Probably a cheap(er) way to adverstize their product haha.
I'm just pointing out that most people don't see the big picture, and only focus on what they got. So even though that's only 1000mc at best, it adds up to an impressive amount when you include the entire community.

Think of it as a fish hook.

Players who may not play as much might be playing more to get the "free bees"

Now they have a mech bay. But need to put a mech in it. Some will use C bills, but a few just might pay real cash to put a mech in it. Or they get premium time and they really do not want to waste it. So they play some more and find they are having more fun then they thought.

Wallets get opened spending real cash in exchange for cockpit shinies.

And that is a win for everyone as PGI gets more cash to operate, more players on the field to shoot at. :)

It's a cool stat to keep track of, thanks OP!

Only thing to add is that these giveaways aren't necessarily lost profits to PGI as the people receiving them may not have been considering buying the things they got.

I'd rather have a mechbay, in lieu of MC and certain cockpit items that I have no use for (I would have liked to be able to pick a particular cockpit item if I'm to get a cockpit item as a reward)... but whatever I guess.

Oh well.

Mechbays and handfuls of MC for the space poor!

Seriously though these types of events are my favorite.

I would like to see a comparison between this solstice event and the last solstice event. I wonder if the distribution has changed.

Also wonder if we can tell anything about population. But given the winter solstice event occurs when more people have time off to play it may be difficult.

But thanks again PGI, I love these events. Please don't wait to the next solstice to have another.

If that is 27,000 MC worth of gear to you personally, that is phenomenal, if that is to the community, it is $100 amongst the masses.

I'm home now and had a chance to get the mc value for all other items. The amount has been significantly increased after incorporating everything (except for unlucky items) being converted to MC.

So far total $ value:
MC value of items: $147,762.05
W/O C-BILLS: $94,393.89

That was a $ infront of the 27,000 in the title, not MC value.
So it was $27,000 amongst the masses (to correct what you said)

But after getting home and being able to incorporate the values of the rest of the items that I listed were not included in the calculation to reach $27,000, it has significantly gone up. Especially after adding in Premium time and cockpit items.

Edit:
Since I have the table I'll add the Stocking Stuffer and Halloween events to compare.
Updated with past events.

Unless we knew the average earnings per player, or how many players there were, (or both) there's no way to tell if PGI has made any changes to distribution.

There's also an extra game mode with our current event, which could also offset numbers as well.

mea culpa, good on them! I haven't been able to personally partake partially due to schedule, and partially due to matchmaker. Sorry, I am a shoddy Assault (Zeus) player, I deserve a lower Elo (if one exists), I'd be grateful and happy with a 1:1 W/L ratio, but alas I do don't get it nor do I get much of the prize pool.
