Looking over at the wiki there's a suicide drove version of a hover support vehicle that was "First seen during the Marik Civil War".
The way I figure it would work:
-it would be automatically be used on entering a match (multiple could be present but not immediately activated for CW)
-It would start a little back from the spawn point of the player bringing it.
-The player commands it on the battle grid to go to a point on a map and it waits there mostly shut down for an enemy to pass by
-When the enemy passes in a certain radius it activates drives straight for the enemy mech at full speed and detonates when it reaches the collision bubble.

The drawback (besides the technical work required):
-Even though it's described to been around since about 3015 in some form on Sarna the Master Unit List says it's more of a Jihad era thing
-It's a 100 tons; here's a pics of a 30 ton coolant truck with a Catapult (there's already several topics devoted to scale but you get the idea). So a Buffalo is not exactly small and subtle. It's a big honking thing near the size of a Atlus barreling at you at ~100kph.

Alternatively in about a year further in the timeline the LAW-QM1 Q-MECH is introduced which would be something about the size of a Locust (but much more fragile) that could wait, activate, lurch forward at ~30kph while firing a large laser at its intended target, and it in the off chance it reaches the target the booby trap goes off.

Thoughts?
