Hug doesn't even have the rights. A Japanese court ruled they bought them from some one who never had the rights to begin with. Just waiting for some one to bring them to court in the us.

This is correct. I'm guessing the reason everyone respects their claim is because they don't want to have to deal with the ensuing legal battle.

I wish there were a way to get the court to re-evaluate the case, but I'm pretty sure Studio Nue has to initiate it. Unless Harmony Gold actually tried to sue someone with lawyers that were worth the paper their degrees were printed on.

edit: Just in case this was unclear: Someone interested in releasing the Macross Unseen should not be dealing with Harmony Gold. They should be dealing with Studio Nue. Harmony Gold has no rights to sell anything.

Jada Pnkiett Smith as Claudia LaSalle/Claudia Grant (the character is American)? ;)

Max's surname, "Jenius", is nordic in origin & the character is described as having been born in Europe.
Are there any prominent (or semi-prominent) Swedish/Finnish/Danish (or so descended) actors that could fill the role?

Ben Dixon (the Robotech character) is American (despite the original Macross character, Hayato Kakizuki, being Japanese), and is noted for being something of a stereotypical "jock" (e.g. tall and strong, but not terribly bright).
I think The Rock might make a good Ben Dixon...?

So, who would play the Macross Operators/"bridge bunnies" (especially Vanessa...)?

Max: Pål Sverre Hagen? (For a non Scandy, Nicholas Hoult?)
Ben Dixon: (Sorry the Rock is probably too expensive, and ben had a little paunch, too)....gonna have to work on that with, along with Roy.

For Vanessa, IDK, can Emma Watson pull off a pixie cut/bob type thingy?

Kaitlyn Dever or Hailee Steinfeld might work as Kim...:

Sammy...... wow....hard to "recommend" someone as annoying...lol...Lyndsy Fonseca was almost the right blend of eager and annoying in Agent Carter. Molly Quinn from Castle?

For Roy, I really think Jude Law / Orlando Bloom or Liam Neeson would be the best (and expensive options), as they have the height and build I think is needed... Though Liam Neeson might be a bit too stocky.

It is my deepest fear that a mw movie will be treated and filmed just like robot jox or worse. While mechs are awesome the movie would need a real good character drama first

YEAHHHHH!!!

Love Robotjox

Can you imagine how much money PGI could make off a bundle like this?

Stinger
Phoenix Hawk
Warhammer
Marauder
Longbow or Archer

If I'm PGI, I'm getting into looking in on this STAT!

Roy still needs to be sub 40. Neeson would make another decent candidate for the Henry Gloval though. Orlando is too pretty boy, and Law too British, lol.

If Viggo Mortensen were younger I might lean toward him.

It would take CGI work, but I kinda want to see Jason Flemyng as Exedore.

The hard part would be casting Natasha Kerensky, as you can't just paste a pretty face on here and call it good. She has to be believably tough as nails, and military bearing.
Scarlett Johansson, way too typecast (and expensive), Milla Jovovich just doesn't click (and again, too typecast) Emily Blunt? She was pretty good in edge of tomorrow?
It might be an odd choice but I would cast Antje Traue as Natasha, or maybe Eva Green. http://www.imdb.com/.../?ref_=tt_cl_t4

Both can pull off the tough as nails status in my opinion.

Heh. Yeah, and the first will probably end with a post-credits coda showing a Timber Wolf skulking in the shadows. Even if the plot is set in Thunder Rift. Because Timber Wolf.

You mean...like every trailer PGI ever made for CW? lol

True... but they need to be lean to pull of Fokker, Viggo is a little on the stocky side for Fokker... If only Alexander Ludwig wasn't so young... he'd almost be perfect. (he does a grate job at playing Bjorn Ironsides in Vikings, by the way... also known for playing one of the kids in the first Hunger games book.)

Well let's go real nuts and cast Michael Fassbender? (I'm pretty sure he could be cast as Malcolm X or Queen Victoria and pull it off. Really is there any role that you can't Fassbender?)

Apparently, he is the Michael Bay of BT, causing every superficial man-child to fixate on the eye-candy instead of immersive, in-depth gameplay. Fusion gens don't up like many atomic bombs or micro-super Novas....and we certainly shouldn't see them every match...or even every few matches.

That's...patently ridiculous. How is a book supposed to focus on immersive, in-depth gameplay? It's supposed to tell a story, and the stories the BattleTech novel canon as a whole told are the reason I'm here. I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one.

Geh. Thanks anyways, Jin. Heh, even if the answer is basically "3025'ers hate everything" again. One of these days, guys...

Perfect. Actually just dye his hair blond give him some sun to get a tan, and he'd be perfect.

Though it has to be mentioned that not all game to movie conversions are good. Look at what happened to Wing Commander...

Lets hope Sony doesn't cop out on this one either as they did with The Interview. :P

Yes. It's fluff. But let's also forget about the whole byzantine politics and such he basically blueprinted for FASA.

Yes we know for physics and such, Stacks ain't exactly accurate. We are talking about Gundams here though, in the first place, right? The same world where 20mm chainguns are .5 ton, Autocannon are apparently naval grade, capitol ship, rapid fire rifles, and Missile Launchers are really rocket pods that keep thousands of reloads hiding in negative space generators, because they sure ain't got no place to fit in the mechs.

But hey, let's focus on scientific accuracy here......
