The harm is allocating the dev and programmer time to it. If those devs and programmers are working on this project than they aren't working on things for the main game, which means fewer new mechs, fewer new maps, fewer bug fixes, fewer balance fixes, etc.
While I would be willing to try this proposed new mode if it came to be, I highly doubt it would be worth the resources poured into making it happen.
Shrug. Resource allocation is not something I have control over. I can only make unreasonable demands on the forums.

Tweaks would no doubt need to be made, but MWO feels almost exactly backwards from Battletech in far too many ways.

But.
I'd like to see more done with heat penalty - like TT compromised mech/pilot performance.
With the weapon changes I wouldn't mind having a bit more impulse from ACs and missiles. (Focus fire may still be a problem but I'd have to see how it plays out with the weapon recharge times.)
Time penalties are not needed - arbitrarily punishing the player for changing something or even just losing a match like that is just unnecessary, no one wants to play a match in their favourite mech and have the possibility of not playing it again for an hour.

1-2: might be worth a try.
3-4: very intresting, these I would really want to try. The heat scale tweaks could be a game changer. Or not. I hope we will try them sooner or later.
5: we already know that people will find a way to abuse that.
6: while i don't like convergence as it is, someone pointed out that multiple convergence points are taxing on the game performance. Right now every mech has up to 2 convergence points. With this change, most mechs would have 3 or more (up to 6!). I'd try it, but i fear that it would become a lag fest.
7: would be intresting if the game could create uneven sides, like 11v12, 10vs12 and so on.
8-A-B: time sinks are either useless (player has all the time in the world) or a PITA (player dosen't have all the time in the world). Time sinks are to be avoided at all costs. They come from a type of game (portable games) that are the worst the gaming scene has ever created, and you don't want to go there.
Moreover, i think that the single most interesting thing about this game is coming up with new builds. We all spend more time on smurfy than in the game, i'm sure. Customization is a double edged sword, and it can be abused (if some weapons are not balanced) but if you take it away, i think i'll go play something else.
9: R/R is another time sink. All it does is make the grind slower. Nobody wants non customized mechs: both because they suck, and because they don't feel YOURS. So now if you are a new player, you have to slow down your progress by a lot (new players will normally sustain more damage than veterans, and don't have a lot of money banked). Moreover, it will make people even more timid ("i don't want to push! they will scratch my paint! that thing costs!") and make the game less intresting and fun.
Or R/R is free, but time consuming? Tell me in how many seconds it becomes possible to spend MC to make it faster.
Please, don't transform MWO in farmville.

I think that would be incredibly boring, but if you kept MWOs delivery systems, weapons balance would be very, very off. (not that TT weapon balance is exactly perfect anyways.. AC5? LOLs)
Just an example of how verbatim translations are inherently flawed.
No, i would not play it over what we have now.

if MWO, it would be horrible, because player aim makes many mechs oneshotkills. I doubt this would be fun, or it would generate a lot unused mechs at all.
if TT can I proxy with warhammer dwarfs?

As the title states, if (big if) PGI produced a hardcore follow to the letter of the law verbatim TT mode for testing. Would you play it?
/TL:DR
No, because it would be awful as they are two totally different mediums / formats. You can't do something like that without being blind to the lose of all the great bits in medium A that are gone and the great bits in medium B that are ignored.
I would love to see something that was closer to the intent and the feel of the TT game, but that's a different thing to what you are proposing.

That being said, I enjoy the current game for the most part and while there are some balance issues I prefer the customization freedom that we have now.
