if you don't post your system specs it's pretty impossible to offer anything but the most generic advice (run repair tool, update drivers, etc)

Format and Reinstall Windows™ advice, too.

Somebody did that today and it helped with strangely low performance of MWO (no matter what settings) significantly.
1. Open up your PC and clean all the dust off, especially from fans.
2. When running the game, go to task manager-processes, choose "show processes of all users" or whatever it is called in English.
2b select mwoClient process and set its priority to above average.

Might sound stupid, but one PC's problems with MWO just dissappeared today. Lousy performance on average and low changed to good performance on high.

I suspect that the CW maps, being the most recent, haven't gone through as many streamlining passes to catch all the graphics leaks that might be in them. They may also be utilizing slightly more resources due to the number of AI on them. Having areas in the middle of the maps that are off-limits may also have something to do with it, but that's just a wild guess based solely on that one difference between Public and CW maps.

I guess the only way to find out would be for the devs or a player with in-depth diagnostic software to compare system resource usage on similar maps in Public and CW.

Overclocking my i7 caused the game to bluescreen every time I dropped in CW. No other game, just MWO. Yuck.

Are you running any sort of ATI stuff as well? MWO seems directly geared for Intel-i5/7 and Nvidia.

If your i7 crashed while playing MWO while overclocked, chances are you did not properly stress test your OC to begin with and did not give your processor enough voltage (or adequate cooling) . My i5 3570K has been humming along at 4.6Ghz 1.3V for almost 3 years now, 24/7 365, I have never bluescreened from MWO, ever.

@OP, ever since the last graphics pass that PGI did for CW, most CW maps actually run smoother than pug matches, apart from when the dropships come in. River City will often give worse performance, especially near the citadel in the water, than CW maps.

I find MWO to be very unstable for my system these days, despite running fine 6 months ago. I have run every hardware diagnostic I can, cleaned up everything possible on my computer and still hang/crash multiple times a night. No error messages popping up on CTD either. My rig isn't new but it is still way better than recommended spec with enough cooling to keep everything running fine going full out.
