Clan and IS balance isnt so skewed in favor of the clans as people still want to think.
IS Quirks have made them just as good, if not better in some situations. Clans get a whole 1 or 2 more points of damage on their weapons, a little bit more heat on their weapons. A Fair bit more range on some, barring quirks. But all CLan weapons get burst mode and longer durations.
Now, IS, quirked, they get Clan range, they get increased CD, allowing them to fire their lesser damage faster, more often and with better duration. Quirks have removed alot of the IS deficiencies, given them clan benefits, outside of space and weight, so really, its not that bad Clans OP as many think.
In fact, the clans are kinda starting to suck a little. Their ballistics suck royally, burst mode, jamming up, spread damage..
LRMs spread damage, fire in waves. THeir Lasers might have a negligible amount more damage, they get more range, not that it really is that big a deal, most fights are 400-700m anyway, well within IS Ranges. The ranges where Clan range matters, the game isnt played anyway. CERPPC are a total joke, as are ERPPC in general.
I am kinda playing this game a bit more, some on IS, some on Clan. So far, my IS side is smoking my Clan side. IS side is acatually in the positive on KDR and WR. My Zeus? It can chew **** up, spit it out, and ask for thirds, then still have some to take home and eat later. So far, CLan side? Even laser vomit seems meh overall. CERPPC builds are a joke, a mixed LBX/Laser/SRM build is a joke...
So far, I much prefer my Zeus to any of the 4 Clan mechs ive got....
