I'm looking at the current map and seeing several regions that are "cut off" and isolated from their empires.

Question: is there any game mechanic in play that reflects this tactical failure? I would think that once a planet or region is cut off from supply lines, it would be more difficult for its owner to defend?

Any rules in the current CW that apply to this?

Any word of future plans to do so?

No rules apply to it. Currently there are no logistics involved in CW. :( I don't think it is an intended effect as you cannot actually choose what planet you attack.

I reckon they should get this in place though before they do a map reset. The Clans should be supplied from their supply worlds on the Periphery, and the IS suppy chains should run from their capitals.

More detail could be added in future to improve the system - but even something pretty basic would be a significant improvement over what we have now.

Keep it simple to start off with. I would suggest that once isolated no attack vectors can be generated from that location but those planets in that isolated location should always have at least one attack vector into it.

As for perceived supply lines, for the Clans they would have only that one Admin planet near the periphery while the Houses have their respective Capitols, and possibly their regional capitals, though several Houses do not have all of theirs appropriately marked.
