It installs in steps. It will download the game then it needs to check for updates which takes a bit more time. When everything is finished the button will change to 'PLAY!'
There is an icon at the top right corner of the launcher window which allow you to change it from x32 to x64 bit as well. The patcher is there too which is normally good to use after each patch to make sure everything is installed properly and there are no issues.

Skip to step 2. Note since it does install in patches, it can take about an hour to finish. The Launcher itself is very quick to install, it then downloads the game in sections (That it can resume from). With each section, it'll disperse and install the files on your computer... then go to the next section or patch until finished. On slower computers this could be as long as three hours. Good thing to leave for an overnight download.

Question: HOW DO I PLAY i downloaded the installer and now I'm at the online page but i can't play
Alright.
Step one, this is not a web-based game and does not require the website to launch. Only to download the installer.
That said, if you ran the installer you should have this little guy in your start menu.
Please click it now and say "yes" to allowing it to run in administrator mode.
Now you'll see this screen.
Step 2. See that pretty blue button with the white text? Says "Patch." Click that. When it's good and ready -- some long time later -- you'll be ready to play.
Skipping an hour or three...
Now you'll see this.
Alright! It's ready to go.
Step 3: Hit Play.
You'll find yourself here after the publisher and developer are done kindly reminding you who brought this game to you; which they will do every time you start the game. Hit space repeatedly to tell them "Yeah, yeah, START THE GAME ALREADY!!!!"
Now enter your email and password.
Once there, you'll find yourself on a page much like this....with a lot fewer mechs.
That's the game reminding you that you're space-poor. But don't worry, for your first 25 matches the game will shove LOTS of c-bills (money) down your throat until you've got roughly enough to get almost any mech you want for your first mech. Click one and then click launch.
Or better, click "Home", "Tutorial" if it doesn't already put you there on its own. Then after, click "Home" and "Testing Grounds," to get familiar with things before really mean people in large walking battlemechs (mechanized walking tanks) shoot you.
And that's...

After the download ends the "bar" will be either at 1/2 or 2/3. Installation of patch(es) take place from then on, you need to wait. It could take very long.

If you like speed and fast reaction you could try light mechs and fast medium mechs.
Use this website to check engine cap for each mech (engine determines movement and torso twist speed) :

You can also design mechs on smurfy before you purchase and upgrade them with cbills.

Well, compared to my usual 5D that Awesome is pretty fat, and I call assaults "fatties" but nope, not calling you fat.
