I have seen a few posts about surround sound by hooking up a set of surround headphones (externally to MWO). But, I have not seen anyone talk about if MWO settings need to change to use those headphones. For example, in settings, there is a playback device selection of default and speakers. And a playback mode of default, direct sound and windows audio session. If my sound card setup in windows is set for surround sound, should I be selecting the windows audio session to use those settings to get surround sound in MWO? I am not sure what direct sound and default are to be used for in playback mode. Can anyone help?
