Too bad the 4J really struggles on that new CW map. All those stupid pillars make LRMing a tricky proposition.

This HBK does seem a little too good. I feel like I should never see a 50 ton LRM mech top damage charts, but it has happened.

I feel like it's right where it belongs right now. The Hunchback is *meant* to be feared. It's a medium packing the pain of a heavy. It was meant to be terrifying.
Now if they can just get us to fear the Atlas again, like we should.

but still, seeing that a 4J throws about double the amount of missiles in the air then a 2x lrm 20 heavy does is still kinda off.

Yeah... but they're LRMs. One of the most easily avoidable weapon systems in the game. You can't go a day without seeing some 1337 unit post about how nobody uses them in comp play or CW because they're worthless, so hard to get too uptight about it.
And one overlooks, with how efficient it is at throwing (woohoo!) 2x LRM10..... that it's Medium Mech with 80-90 ton mech speed, limited ammo, (even more if it tries to pack it's energy points with Mlasers, plus heat problems, then), can't XL and has...the armor of a 50 tonner.
LRMs are easily countered, and the LRM10 is notoriously inefficient in the first place. For efficiency, you either pack aLRM15s, or a bunch of LRM5s.
Like all HBKs, it is an efficient little murder machine.... but part of that is IMO, pilots. HBKs (aside from the Grid Iron) are not "Flavor of the Month" Mechs. More often than not, when I see them on the field, they are piloted by Vets like Rhaythe, Michael Abt, Burktross or myself. Perhaps not competitive level "1337" players, but experienced, and very aware of our surroundings. This means, in the PUG queue, we probably are doing a better job of positioning ourselves to maximize our contribution, and thus, usually not dying early. This leads to being on the "upside" of the leaderboard, more often than not.
As does our willingness to use a mech like the 4J at sub 500 meters and not spend the match hiding behind a hill, uselessly spamming LRMs.
That said, I have not even come close to achieving my High scores in HBKs. I usually hover between 600 and 800 dmg. Why? Ammo. I usually spend the end of each match running around with either 3xML, or 2xML+3xSL. Have gotten more than enough kills even then, but seldom do you post massive numbers. The one most likely to rack up the score, the 4P, is my least favorite to run.

The Griffon is better at LRM'ing
The Hunchy is at its best with cannons.
I did the maths somewhere on a different post, but for sheer volume, actually, the Griffin is not.
HBK-4J has a total of 50% (67% with modules, skills) cooldown with LRM10s and 25% heat reduction with them.
allowing it to fire a volley of 20 LRMs every 1.24 seconds for 6 heat.
GRF-has missile cooldowns of 5% (3M), 7.5% (1N) and 12.5% (1S)
so 3M can do: 4xLRM5 every 2.54 seconds for 8 heat, 4x LRM10 every 2.92 seconds (can't carry enough ammo though) for 16 heat, 3xLRM15 every 3.3 seconds for 15 heat (again, ammo issues) or 2x LRM20 for 12 heat every 3.75 seconds
so 5s: 80 every 10.16 s
10s 120 every 8.76 (160 at 11.68)
15s 135 every 9.9 seconds
20s 120 every 11.25 seconds
vs the HBK-4J at 160 missiles every 9.92 seconds.
the 1N? 3 slots so
5s (2.45s) x3 = 60 every 9.8s
10s (2.83) x3 = 90 every 8.49s (80 in 11.3s)
15s (3.2) x3 = 135 in 9.6s (120 in 12.8)
20s (3.58) x2 120 in 10.74s
1S has 2 slots:
5s (2.29) x2 50 in 11.45
10s (2.64) x2 80 in 10.6
15s (2.99) x2 90 in 8.97 (120 in 11.96)
20s (3.35) x2 120 in 10.5
HBK-4J is undisputed lord of LRMvomit over the GRF. (Which bugs me, since LRMing is the GRs business. But that's the tradeoff for great hitboxes, FoV, good speed and JJs.)
Also, for the lad who says the 4SP does LRMs better? Um, 2 launchers at 20% cooldown, vs 2 Launchers at 50%.
No contest.

depends on your preferred LRM range, but I I have yet to swap mine out on that map. Still tends to be my high contributor of the group.
