Hello, been a while since I've posted. There's a nice poll on OutreachHPG's subreddit about perceived viability of mechs and it's got all the chassis/variants listed, read the directions and give it a whirl!

http://www.reddit.co...bility_surveys/

UPDATE: 48 hour mark review is up and in the OP. If something seems confusing, read the OP, if it still seems confusing read the header for my results dump in the comments!

There is a point where some people can't properly be objective over the mechs and variants... but also on the same hand.. sometimes one wonders about the results.

Voted on all of them. Not sure how useful final information will be though, e.g. "non-viable" Timberwolf votes.

I'd like PGI to release an updated tier list for all of our giant robots.

That list looks moderately accurate though - despite a couple of obvious trolls voting the MadCat and StormCrow as 'non-viable'.

I stopped reading when the Locust 1E wasn't viable.
Sorry, OP.

I shoot all of them. It's easy to tell which ones give me trouble and which ones don't, and why, and under what circumstances. Just because I don't pilot a Stormcrow or a Firestarter doesn't mean I don't know it's good.

lol @ people who voted 'not viable' for Firestarter variants

Also, wtf, Cicada X-5 not viable? It is one of my best-performing hero mechs!

Lolcust is only meta if you know how to use it! :^)

This is a fair viewpoint, for instance I have yet to feel affected by any Awesome, despite going up against them every now and then. I would not say an Awesome is viable, nor would I be interested in one as they are currently. I do, however have Gargoyles, and while I think more of them than awesomes, I still would not say they are viable. Comparative experiences and 'seeing it from the other end of the fight' is reasonable.

48 hour analysis is coming up later tonight, get your votes in!

Yeah, I know a lot about different mechs from fighting them and there were more than a few mechs listed not viable or lower that don't deserve that. That's just my opinion

Some of them have shifted a bit Tractor, I'm also changing my formula slightly as I'm seeing a number of them sitting at 50% or above in one column, but don't have a close contest from the other two so more will likely see inclusion in 'niche' and 'viable', and a lot of the inconclusives might move up to any group.

Might as well be titled 'Mark your favourite mechs non viable in the hope that they'll get better quirks'.

This is EXACTLY the way PGI should be getting data about its own game. I'm both surprised and pleased by the poll results. Kudos for making it & running it, I hope it gets more attention.

Voted for the mechs I'm sure about. List seems to reflect my basic understanding of mech viability

Another Viability standard set by popularity and other fallacious reasoning. Isn't that what got us our initial tiering and poorly thought out quirks in the first place?
