Several people seem to believe destructible terrain is being worked on.

I think they're dreaming, but I'd love to know one way or another.

What would be the point if the terrain did not stay destroyed? River City (as an example) would be scorched/Lazer'd to the ground in 2 days, never to be playable ever again. ;)

If it just resets every Match then that would get boring. All we need is something more useless for the DERPS to do on any Map, other than not fight with the Team like it is now.

Just imagine it.

Your Team loses due to "Charlie" Lance spending all Match knocking down a high rise building, over and over. lol

A couple of thoughts:
  • Excellent points made by the OP.
  • I also misinterpreted the title of this thread.
  • It's a shame, and frankly I feel a bit affronted, that PGI staff feel that any other medium outside of the actual game forum, should be the first to receive news.
  • That being said, given some of the replies on this very thread, I can understand point 3. Seriously people, the OP had / has good intentions. Are you THAT incapable of being at least civil? I thought the MWO crowd was generally slightly better than the COD brigade.

:( Oh. I'd rather hoped that MWO was going to miss the worst of that sort of thing.

A good April's fool joke should be put on the list as well!

What makes you think this list isn't it? ;)

Firstly, the roadmaps are helpful for seeing what's coming and the new weekly updates are also nice for sneak previews, but do not really offer much information. For most things, the player base is still largely in the dark.

For this week's April roadmap, could you please also discuss PGI's current stance (and upcoming plans) on some of the most frequently raised community concerns?

These include, with some overlap:
  • New player experience (i.e. tutorials, guides, matching algorithm, grind)
  • The economy / rate of earnings
  • Matchmaker (any further improvements planned? Is it okay as it is?)
  • Explicit view on Clan / IS balance
  • Power of mercs in CW / incentives to be loyalist
  • Winning / losing CW planets being entirely due to number of people on a side
  • PuGs vs units in CW (regardless of my views/reader views, this is the most frequent topic of complaint in the CW forums so deserves a spot here)
  • ECM
  • LRM mechanics
  • Heat / ghost heat
  • Hitboxes / scaling / lag shield
We know your current views on quirks, but how often you plan to iterate on these would be useful to know.

If I have forgotten any common issues, let me know and I will edit.

While I agree that those are all things the devs need to communicate about(in particular on the forums not twitter/reddit) I am unsure why they would talk about any of these during the roadmap for April unless some of these actually are planned to be addressed during April. A roadmap isn't an open discussion about any random topic, but rather to inform what actually is going to happen during a given time.

Updated OP, sorry for the original confusion.

If these things were to be addressed in a forum post outside of the April roadmap that'd be great, but we haven't seen anything but roadmaps in the command chair forever so the roadmap is as good as any. Even if they are not planning to address these things in April, they should still be considering them and their impact on the game and community. If they're not, they'll never get anything done working on aspects of MWO in isolation. Hence their current stance on this issues isn't a huge thing to ask for, especially if it's updated as new data becomes available.

I too would like these addressed. It's frustrating that PGI never shares their vision on these things anymore. Part of it is that they've learned not to give deadlines on even their next bathroom break anymore, but part of it is, well, I don't know. But the game needs some buzz.
