I don't think any truly meaningful data was gleaned.

Whenever a "Point Event" weekend happens, you end up with huge number of point farmers/suicide rushers in match. Thus, when players play only to get their 80 pts, then suicide rush to get into the next match and get their next 80 score, it totally skews data and the actual game.

It happens every single event, with people just rushing to get their match points and such.

The other thing CW shows, mostly is which side has the most teams dropping at that point in time.

While certainly bad play happened, I believe useful observations were obtained. PGI is now planning to decouple counterattack and invasion from whichever side queued first. Also they are now planning a map reset.

if they wanted to get more people into CWI they should fix the horrific FPS drops many of us get on those maps.. some of us wouldn't mind playing but when our FPS drops from 70 to 10.. it tends to keep us from playing.

Oddly enough I get better framerates in CW than standard (other than Grim Portico which is sometimes slow).

They probably also learned that if they have a large enough playerbase in CW, the queue times become tolerable, if not enjoyable. And also that properly incentivizing CW (they don't have to give away mechs, though)will increase that player pool.

True (my wait times were usually seconds i.e faster than standard queue), but like you said, you can't resort to bribery long term to get people interested. I think there are plenty of carrots* in CW already with low hanging fruit in Mechbays/MC/XP, there should be some cool stuff at the higher end to make people stick with factions. I am sure the servers got quite workout as well.

I found the CW event to rather fun, with so many people in CW it didn't feel like a chore to play in it. The fact you didn't face the same 12 man over and over was wonderful.

I was almost as bad. I had a busy weekend hanging out with my wife and friends. But I did get in a few matches and won more than lost even if I only scored one 80 point game.

I got one match in, I just have other stuff to do and too little free time in my schedule to sit around for the longer queue times.

Event was a non-event for me. Didn't play one single CW drop.

Me either. The Solo Queue was pretty nice, though, with faster queue times there as well. Unless you wanted to play a Heavy, but Heavy queue times are always long.

CW just isn't CW yet, at least not for me. It's just another game mode that takes longer to play and has longer queue times. I just don't find it any more interesting that Assault or Skirmish, so it's ultimately worse due to the longer queues and games.

Been thinking about this all weekend. PGI, has some things up their sleeve. I think they wanted to see what would happen if every player (or most) got onto CW. What do you think they are attempting with this weekends event?

Personally I think PGI learned they can rebalance CW simply by making all players play. Gives them insight into our communities. (Spoiler I'm reading into this via the planets gained from IS.

Do they even have the code installed to track anything at all?

It was an eyebrow raiser to see a team kill counter show up, but they still primary the damn killing blow over damage and there's no friendly fire counter. Meta game is narrow. Their track record shows they don't even possess the ability to think ahead so why gather data on a system that isn't built to gather data?

I hope I'm wrong, this is just the way things point right now.

I have seen Russ post things on Twitter, he has numbers. Why would you think they didn't?

But CW stats AGAIN don't go towards your normal STATS no. It is still in BETA you know....and will be RESET soon? So why even bother adjusting that data and then rolling it back for every single player until you finish the mode?
