I'm glad this was brought up, I too am color blind and am grateful when game I play (like Battlefield) include updates to address this. Also, on an aside, I'd love to see a customizable hud...can't tell you have much I loved the MW2 hud. I'd actually like to flip flop where my armor status and an enemy's is in MWO's hud.

The contrast of the different HUD elements looks good enough that their exact color should be irrelevant, but I wholeheartedly support this as a fellow, color-blind MechWarrior.

I would love a simple

Red-Enemy
Blue-Friendly

Color scheme.

It just makes sense color blind or not.

I'm colourblind as well, but don't really mind just dealing with it in games. I agree it would be nice if the HUD colours were customisable though - I always have difficulty distinguishing between friendly and enemy HUD icons, and find that the blue/yellow mode works much better for my mutant eyes.

I'd probably prefer the armour/internal indicators to fade out rather than turn to red (not sure whether it does that now or not). I've had similar problems determining the damage on armour/internals in the vids, but just chalked it up to video quality.

Colors should always be adjustable for fit our individual needs!

+1 as a red-green colourblind individual. Health bars or the ability to change HUD colours would be great!

I've seen a very useful game option implemented in Wargaming's World of Tanks. It's a simple checkbox in the options that basically converts red/green(icons and health bars) to blue/yellow. Could prove fruitful here. Just my two cents on the possibility. Otherwise I'm sure many third parties are more than willing to make colorblind UI mods for the game.

Although I am not affected by this, this is one of the only pre launch change/addition ideas I approve of.

MW4 V had the option of changing standard damage displays to a bars.

I personally would like the MW3 option of changing from the image of the mech (like the current MWO one) to the 'HTAL' that only has columns for how much is remaining. I loved that display as it gave me an exact amount of remaining armor.
